A masterclass in world building and pacing. Shouto’s not really himself in this but Bakugou’s perfect characterization balances out Shouto’s out of character qualities.
To explain, Shouto is like this version of himself who grew up with etiquette lessons and refined social awareness. The type of person Bakugou would still be at odds with on the surface. So ultimately it is an interesting take on a “what if” version of Shouto, the story being an AU and all.
Anyway it’s a quality fic and this author poured their heart and soul into it. Very cleverly written, it is truly like reading a fictional crime drama. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I need to mull over Shouto’s characterization some more and see how it plays out in the second part to decide whether or not to include it in my all time favorite fics list. I might just say fuck it and add it, it’s so good. TBD.
