After Ilya and Shane are outed, someone on the internet decides that Shane bagging “the dangerously sexy Russian bear” means that he’s a sex goddess (yes, a fucking godDESS) and a babygirl and a daddy and a walking, talking thirst trap and all sorts of other things Shane doesn’t even want to know about. It's embarrassing and it’s annoying and it’s really, really weird.
Luckily Shane and Ilya have Harris, Centaurs’ nice and savvy social media manager. Harris tries to keep the highspeed train on the rails, but the internet doesn’t get his memo. And when the free and welcoming atmosphere of his new team slowly lures the real Shane Hollander out of his shell, Harris’s plan falls flat on its face. And there’s a real danger that Harris himself might follow.

Amelia nodded mutely whilst Luca Haas, who had been asked the question, stared at Shane with wide eyes.
“So, who’s the third?” Shane’s face took on a contemplative look.
“Scott Hunter?” Amelia said with confusion.
“Hunter?” Shane looked surprised. “Why?”

Summary
Harris hadn’t meant to say anything. He hadn’t even realized what he’d said, honestly, until Ilya’s reaction: choking on his beer, eyes bugging out, looking more nervous than Harris had ever seen him look.
Why couldn’t he have just kept his mouth shut? He was tipsy, and probably a bit too comfortable, but still. He should have known better. He felt like the biggest asshole alive.

They lapse back into a comfortable silence. Shane looks at Ilya as he is and thinks about Ilya as he was at seventeen, smoking in the back of a Saskatchewan parking lot. The image is almost unbearably tender for Shane, where his own seventeen year old thrill at seeing Ilya Rozanov meets all the things Shane knows about that lonely boy now.
Shane thinks: Do you love number 81 more than you love this man?
"Hey," Ilya says, brushing his knuckles over Shane's cheek. "Whatever I do, I will be there when you come home."
Ilya decides to retire. Shane is very normal about it.
