Summary
Brencis is gone. All that's left is to restore order to Vale Sangora. Force the supernatural back into hiding and let it fade back into legend and folklore. Thank goodness Marat doesn't have some sort of Half-Vrakhir, Half-Witch, Half-Human ex-lover still lingering somewhere in the valley to make that job utterly painful.
Set more than a few handful of years after the Knyazmaker ending! Spoilers for that ending ahead!

Summary
It has been only a few days since Coen was forced to leave his old life behind. Each sunrise, he walks the earth as a human. Each moonrise, he must fight a deep hunger and come to terms with being a half-Vrakhir.
His goal is simple: eliminate the Boyars, kill Brencis, and save his family before the knyaz’s coronation.
But Coen has underestimated his enemies.

Summary
Coen and Ambrus get to know each other before Laslea gets wiped out. As they become enemies, they have to face that they care about each other much more than they should.
"Bakir looks so scary."
"Scarier than me?" Ambrus said threateningly.
Coen was startled by the sudden closeness, but the feeling was not unwelcome.
"Ah... There's no right answer here, is there?"
A smile subtly emerged beneath Ambrus's scornful expression. Coen smiled back. Finally, Ambrus laughed.
"Fret not, my pet," he said, cheerful, putting an end to the performance. "You're perfectly safe. Though I must confess, I am now curious about the answer."
"Well... I'm not afraid of you anymore," Coen confessed shyly.
"Oh, how disappointing!" Ambrus replied, theatrically. "Shall I torture you a little, then? Put some fear back into you?"
"I'd rather you didn't." He held back another smile.
"I merely jest, my dear." Ambrus caressed his cheek, and Coen found himself leaning into his hand. "I'm quite happy with our current arrangement. Speaking of which, I could really use a taste of that delicious blood of yours."
"Of course." Coen tilted his head, offering himself up to the vrakhir.
