The realization that Katsuki would do anything for Izuku is a mundane one, and perhaps, old news. It happens quarter-to-nine, fifteen minutes past when he would usually go to sleep.
When the rest of the class starts retreating to their dorm rooms, the exhaustion of today’s events finally catching up to them, he makes no move to leave Izuku’s side. They’re pressed together on the couch, touching at the knees. Katsuki can feel his warmth radiating through the blankets piled on top of him.
And in the end, it’s just anticlimactic. Fuck, he thinks. There's nothing I wouldn't do.

Katsuki grits his teeth. “Bullshit. You’ve been a danger to everyone since the moment you got One For All. Why does it matter now?”
Izuku hates this. He hates Katsuki for not understanding. Katsuki didn’t see how Shigaraki’s spikes sprayed his blood into the sky, how he was a few lucky inches away from certain death. Izuku sees it every time he closes his eyes. He sees it every time he tries to get a few hours of sleep in these shitty rundown apartments.
“Because people will die, Kacchan! I can’t risk that! Shigaraki and All For One are stronger than ever. Nothing is worth putting innocent lives in danger. I don’t care what I have to do. I’ll stay in hiding for as long as it takes.”
Or, during the Vigilante Deku arc, Katsuki finds Izuku on his own, instead of with the whole class. Arguments and confessions ensue as Katsuki tries to convince Izuku to come back to UA.

"Stay close," Katsuki muttered, stepping closer to Izuku so he could better protect him. Izuku grit his teeth. He wasn't enjoying feeling like a damsel, but really...what other choice did they have? In their current situation, they were severely and quite utterly fucked.
"You have to leave me," Izuku blurted as the creatures closed in. Katsuki was now accounting for both of their backs—Izuku couldn't even stand himself upright. He was a liability. Useless. Katsuki had to leave him—it was the only way.
