The very concept felt foreign, forget what the twins had said about supposedly gentle hands. Besides, this stranger is being so... nice and sweet right now. It's probably not who she thinks. It couldn’t be. She would be a lot more brusque… Assumably.
Still, there’s a non-zero chance. A new blot of dark red in her theories, spreading outwards to consume.
There is a possibility, however small she commands it to be, that the one she’s dancing with, pliant to Furina’s touch, is one Lord Knave, Arlecchino.

Or, Furina attends a masquerade at her friend's request to get away from the tension of a frustrating week, and waltzes with one of said tensions. Meanwhile Arlecchino wrestles with wanting to get closer to Furina out of both respect and intrigue and stumbles into success while mostly keeping her aura intact.

Update for the Update: I have learned my lesson. For approximately 3 months, I have tried to avoid working on this fic due to how much I despised the direction it was going in, (and how I had absolutely ruined it), so — like a coward — I ran away from it. I pretended it did not exist. The last time I didn’t update this fic, I was cursed with food poisoning. Guess what fucking came back again twice in the span of a single month? Food poisoning. I’ve learned my lesson and will continue working on this fic no matter how horrible it is, please bear with me.

Capitano drops down, sits in the decaying earth with her for a long moment. Takes one of her ink-dark hands in both of his own and holds it- she is tiny, a brave little mouse.
“Je ne suis pas mort pour le Fontaine,” She says, voice cracking around the syllables, being exhumed from her dying remains. “Je ne suis pas mort pour la Maison, Mère - je ne suis pas mort pour moi-même. Je suis mort pour Clervie.” Again, “Je suis mort pour Clervie.”
“I don’t-,” Capitano begins, and her eyes roll away from him, her hand goes limp in his grasp.
“Quickly,” She says, raw, dragged out of her throat by the nail-teeth. “Kill me quickly,”
“No,” He says, although it might be kinder.

It was slow, each second dragging, the sight of unblemished skin teasing. Undressing the leather and suede glove revealed dainty fingers and a wrist that Wriothesley could easily wrap his thumb and index finger around. In his left hand now laid his limp glove.
With his naked hand, he reached forward, grabbing Wriothesley’s tie. Wriothesley sucked in a breath. His thumb swirled, duly studying the tie’s crimson fabric.
“Silk. . .” Lyney muttered. Wriothesley watched the magician’s fingers and eyes slowly sneak upward. Once his fingers gripped the tie’s knot, their eyes locked. Wriothesley swallowed.
Wriothesley is in a loving marriage with his high school sweetheart, however there is a certain magician distracting him.
