Summary
Jens is beginning to feel lost—left behind. His friends all seem to be moving on at full speed, and he’s stuck. Even the parties, the skating, the weed, all no longer feel like enough. More than anything, he’s starting to feel alone. He’s swimming through mud—and it’s only a matter of time before he sinks.
Lucas is suddenly disconnected. Even though he’s only moved a train ride away, he feels like there’s an ocean between him and his old life. He’s been dunked—dragged—suddenly underwater, and he can’t seem to make his way back to the surface.
When the two boys collide, they begin to wonder if they’ve sunk as far as they think—or if they’ve just been waiting for the right hand to pull them free.

“Your boyfriend’s church?! Your boyfriend’s catholic church?! You did the dirty in your boyfriend’s catholic church?!” Nicky was practically vibrating.
“How the fuck can you be gay and catholic?” Aaron asked, looking only mildly horrified. Adam shrugged.
“He’s not exactly what you’d call ‘well adjusted.’” He said. Andrew snorted. Gillian was looking at Adam like he’d hung the moon.
“Adam Parrish,” Nicky said, “You are my hero. You’re a legend. An Icon. We’re splitting the ice cream special. I am in love with you.”

The descent is slow and maddening – memories and trauma from his past weave together to form the image of the man that stands there today. As Kevin begins to look around him with a new and critical eye, though, he’s no longer sure that man is who he wants to be.
So the question is - when faced with the truth, is it a case of Kevin finally getting what he deserves? Or is it about time to prove a lot of people (including himself) wrong?
