The malfunctioning artifact summoning demons too close to Strife’s camp, less than a week after Professor Volkarin had joined their party, was as much an opportunity as it was an obligation. Through the crowd of Venatori, Lucanis could see the form of a woman bound to the wall in glowing, heavy chains. There was a metal muzzle that went over her mouth and obscured the better half of her face.
She stirred slightly, and there were shouts of alarm from all the guards. When she did nothing more, they lowered their weapons little by little, until their shoulders all but fell in relief.
Whoever this new prisoner was, she seemed to absolutely terrify the Venatori.
