Slowly, he shovelled the largest chunk of meat onto his fork.

This was not the way it was supposed to go. At all.
But obviously, the Universe is allergic to the combination of Jason Todd and well made plans.
Red Hood has elaborate plans for vengeance - psychological warfare against Batman, prove the Replacement's worthlessness, build up his empire, etc etc. But that was before a very ill-advised rescue and an apparently very concussed Nightwing.
What even is his life.

How one moment he can be hanging around with Mr Stark and Karen, then the next… he’s fighting bad guys and being taken into different universes where his life is just a mere… memory. A story he can tell to his new friends and, shall he say, family?
No. Not family, Peter Parker can no longer do that, he cannot live his life as a normal person any longer, his sense of family is gone and now he is just a shell of the person he once was… He can no longer look his Auntie in the eyes and feel safe because… there was no longer an Auntie. Not even a grave he was familiar with. His aunt May is gone, his life is gone, his friends, his family, his.. Mr Stark… is gone. He’s just an anomaly in this new environment...
All Peter Parker knows about this new self of his… was the fact he crawled out of some, sickly green pool of goo And his once usual normally active spider senses.. Was completely out of control, almost, Alive.
