“You’ll survive,” Zeal replied, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes. “I don’t even think you’d dance better than me, but you didn’t see me making a problem out of it.”
Kaelix tsked, but let his body get even closer to Zeal’s until both of their bodies aligned perfectly, like an instinct. “Well, who told me to be generous enough to agree with whatever this is.”
Zeal’s hand that curled around him tightened, warm and sure. “We all know exactly why you’re going along with this.”
Or: the bartender and the bouncer trapped by the rain after the live house's closing hour, accompanied by an antique gramophone given by a regular—and they (Zeal, mostly) take full advantage of it.

Kaelix finally lands a job after a streak of rejections, and it’s suspiciously well-paid for something that mostly involves lifting furniture, organizing samples, and not getting distracted by his frustratingly attractive boss.
He can handle it. He can show up every day and totally not make it weird.
He can also fall headfirst into a hole of his own making. One that involves getting a little bit too attached, catching feelings he knows he really shouldn’t, and falling harder than he ever meant to.

Freodore takes on a small job from Zeal, something easy and would pay pretty well, he'd said. Simple, in theory, too. Just sorting out equipment for him—nothing complicated. Or so he'd thought.
Meanwhile, Kaelix expects just some tech guy who might know what he's doing to help give his setup a much needed upgrade, which he does get, he just hadn't accounted for the same tech guy to accidentally make him want things he hasn't let himself want in a long, long time.

Zeal starts the night with the upper hand.
As always, he’s the one tying the knots and pulling the strings. Seible’s laid out beneath him, flushed and desperate, brattiness controlled by the silk restraining his hands. Kaelix is teasing as always, playful chaos incarnate, and Freodore keeps everything and everyone in check while stopping Seible from disobeying should he attempt to do so. Zeal believes, with a hundred and ten percent of his being, that everything is going according to plan.
Tonight isn't as typical as Zeal expects, though; the second he lets his guard down, it’s over. The scene flips. By the time he realizes what’s happening, his wrists are tied, his body’s trembling, and he finally finds out what it's like to be on the receiving end.
(The scary bit—the part he least expected? It's that Zeal is really, really into it.)
