Hongjoong had resisted this urge before, right up until the moment Seonghwa's lips had met his own. In that moment all the anxiety, the fear of commitment, and the question of what he felt had dissolved. Seonghwa's touch had thrown off the weight of his self-doubt and he had jumped rather than fallen recklessly and headlong in love with his best friend. He had known the risks if they were to pursue this, the very real harm that could come to him and to Seonghwa and to their friends- this patchwork family unit they had built around themselves. But he couldn't bring himself to care, at least, not enough to deny himself the security of Seonghwa's affection. Consequences be damned.
