Summary
“No, come on, drink this,” Ingrid says from the other end of a 50-foot tunnel, or maybe over a staticky radio. Sylvain doesn’t open his eyes but he does let the hands touching him guide him however they seem to need to — he thinks he sits up when they press gently at his back. Something nudges at his lips so he parts them. Cool water flows over them, and trickles down his chin. Something warm and damp dabs around his mouth. When it stops, his head falls back and hits something plush.
“I love you,” he mutters, the words just falling out of his mouth, and then his awareness of his surroundings drops to zero.

Dorothea lifted the heel of her left leg to the bed, pulling her stocking over her knee and down her lithe calve to her ankle. She stepped out, leaving it on her bedside. It wasn’t until she gracefully moved her left foot to the floor in time with lifting her right that she said, “Why should I?”
Dorothea and Sylvain ask each other the important questions like "will you marry me" and "what would you do if you were in my body" and "how would you make me even hornier for that previous concept." Normal things.

Felix has a lot of unresolved issues with Faerghus and the people who reside there. He’s genuinely enjoyed the last few months acerbically helping Lysithea give pointers to skaters at the Leicester rink, be they Fawns or figure skaters like Lysithea used to be, both on the ice and in the community kitchen. Before that, the year and a half of travel re-grounded him in his bones, something he didn’t know he needed until he tore out his own earth from beneath his feet.
He likes where he is.

For some reason, Felix’s gaze is catching on the white breaths puffing out of Sylvain’s mouth. An old governess used to tell him tales of the North, how anyone who went into the mountains was destined to freeze to death on the icy slopes, and how the Sreng were only able to survive thanks to a pact they’d made with some foreign God. Glenn had helpfully pointed out that that story was probably made up. “And not freezing to death,” he appends to Sylvain’s list, reaching out and giving the leather straps on the bundled coat one last tug, because he can.
“And not freezing,” Sylvain agrees with a slow smile, after he finally swings up onto his horse. “But don’t worry about me, I’m a Gautier.”
Sylvain comes back from Sreng with treaty in hand and a fever that won't go away.
