Feng Xin nodded, as if it were really that simple, his expression open and filled with a familiar warmth that Mu Qing had not realised he’d missed so palpably.After losing his hearing due to a childhood illness, Mu Qing relocates far away from childhood friends Feng Xin and Xie Lian. Isolating himself in his own silent world, forgetting the world that he left behind, he is forced back into it once more with the reappearance of his friends upon entering university.

Summary
After a cataclysmic event at his last college, Mu Qing is swept away to Taicang University - a prestigious university for those of magical bloodlines and wealth. Mu Qing has no formal magical training nor a rich lineage and is instantly an outsider, however he finds a companion in Xie Lian and his annoying guard dog - Feng Xin. Mu Qing just wants to be left alone, while Feng Xin is infinitely curious about Mu Qing and the secrets he's hiding, ultimately leading to the two of them clashing... a lot. Yet there is more going on at Taicang university that heated rivalries and bickering. Mu Qing and Feng Xin soon find themselves in the center of a convoluted mystery and somehow have to learn to work together and figure out what's truly going on before its too late.

Mu Qing grunted, and even managed to make such a primal, guttural noise sound sarcastic.
‘I’m not the one leaning against the person I hate,’ Feng Xin pointed out.
‘You’re the one who married the person you hate.’
That startled a laugh out of him, his heart jumping and fluttering in his chest like an absolute fool at such an absurd notion. ‘Eh? What are you talking about? How drunk are you?’
Feng Xin and Mu Qing make the seven-hour flight to Las Vegas for Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan's (secret) wedding. Mu Qing copes with a severe, newly-discovered phobia of flying by drinking through it. Feng Xin is left to deal with the fallout.
