She was four-and-ten at the time, a child still, holding her mother’s hand while Aemma fought against the fates on the birthing bed. She wasn’t expecting to see all that blood, all that gore, the awful wailing, the desperation onto which her baby brother was holding life. She wasn’t expecting to, at the end of that day, to have a brother, but not a mother.
When she looked at the tiny newborn, with his white wisp of hair, she cried. All of that for him?
