The bastard was bandaged like a mummy, his usually perfectly styled hair still had chunks of blood in it and he looked paler than a ghost, but somehow, annoyingly, he managed to look handsome all the same… how had he not noticed that before?
As he thought of that, he traced the line of his bottom lip with one of his fingers, absent-mindedly.
There were other things he didn't realize before, it seemed.

“I can’t say I’m not disappointed.”
The sound of a deep, gentle voice cutting through the air startles Till enough to bang his head against the tree behind him. Wincing slightly, he sits up and jerks his head to the slowly approaching man in white.
“I thought you would win after all,” the man continues, slowing until he stood a few feet away. The man’s attention is stolen by the fluttering of a crimson flower inches away from his foot. Absently, he shifts his shoe and crushes the petals beneath him.
It’s enough to spark something within Till. Ivan. It’s Ivan.

Summary
Without thinking, Till reached out and harshly shoved the hand that had reached for Ivan's weak body away, Mizi sucking in a little breath of surprise as she drew back. His face flaming, Till apologised quietly.
"Sorry," he said, his own hand coming to rest on Ivan's chest, the thumping of his heart momentarily quelling a quiet anxiety in his chest.
"Don't be." Mizi's voice was understanding and when Till looked at her, he didn't see the girl he'd spent his entire life chasing. In her place, a friend and ally stood, offering him her hand instead. He reached out and grasped it, basked in the quiet understanding and nodded.

Summary
The door chimes jingled, signaling the entrance of a customer.
It was a 5 AM shift, and Ivan had literally just finished opening the shop, so needless to say, he was surprised, looking up from the register in shock for a second before clearing his throat, hiding the sleepiness in his voice.
“Hey, what can I get for you today?” Ivan said, customer service smile on full display.
“A Trenta white chocolate mocha frappuccino. Five shots of espresso.” the guy replied, sounding as sleepy as Ivan felt. He couldn’t really fault the man for his rudeness; if he had to get Starbucks this early in the morning, he’d be pretty rude too.
“Okay, let me punch that in for yo— five shots of espresso?” he repeated, bewildered.
“Did I stutter?” Mystery Customer replied, unimpressed.
Ivan finally took a good look at the customer, ready to berate him on etiquette, but upon looking Mystery Customer in the eyes, he froze.
Oh shit. He’s hot.

He wonders if this is how Eurydice felt, wanting a tangible sign of Orpheus’ love, to know that he loved her to the point of losing her. Ivan wonders if Till’s gaze would immortalize him or pass right through him, forever in search of the pink hues of the dawn rather than midnight skies.
“You have no idea what you do to me,” Ivan whispers, helplessly caught in Till’s gravity. He thinks that this longing will consume him.

“Till?” Ivan says his name and Till is pulled in, drawn in. He feels the spark in his chest flicker slowly back to life and grow with each passing second.
Till doesn’t answer, too caught in Ivan’s gaze.

Summary
Words couldn't convey how much Ivan wanted to kiss his pain away, or how badly he wanted to wrap his arms around him and hold him close to his chest, close to his heart. How much he wanted Till to lean against his touch, how much he wanted to tell him that he would be okay, that he wasn't as alone as he thought he was. But Till wasn't his, and Till didn't need these gestures or these words from him. So Ivan stayed quiet.

Amusement flashes briefly in Ivan’s eyes and there’s a hand reaching up as he coughs too, he’s covering his mouth, ever the image of perfection and manner’s drilled into him that he can’t even shake the habit now, in moments that could very well be his last.
“You finally looked at me.” He says and something inside Till fractures, splitting, breaking into pieces.

A black haired child, clutching at the hand of his alien owner, watches Till with inky sable eyes. He’s wearing white, pajama-like clothes, seemingly one of the new students of Anakt Garden as they once were. He seems to be awestruck by Till’s performance, and he has a polite, small smile on his face as though he was trained not to let it stretch his lips any wider.
Luka’s gaze flicks back to Till and his eyes are blown wide, holding more emotion in his verdant irises than when his beloved Mizi had lost it. From what Luka could decipher; the main emotions swirling around chaotically was surprise, sorrow, and… grief?

“..Did you know that the real sun can turn people blind if they look at it?” A far higher pitched Ivan asked from beside him. The contrast to the current Ivan’s deep, bassy voice was strange.
“Wha-? That’s stupid! No way it’s true!” Till had exclaimed.
“I wanna see it,” he decided.
Ivan responded, “Maybe we can see it together.” Till looked back at Ivan to see the other boy truly smiling. His lips stretched out to show all of his teeth in a genuine grin.
