With each monster she killed, she felt a piece of herself fading away. A piece of her humanity would turn to ashes with each stab, just like the monsters withering and dying. Annabeth was supposed to be a hero- the savior of Olympus, second only to Percy Jackson- but now her goodness was vanishing, her pride replacing it until she became just as evil as the forces she fought.

Annabeth sits beside him before she brings off the cap, and Percy rather artfully pretends to be startled, if he says so himself. The water that was rotating slowly over him dunks Annabeth, soaking her whole. She drips water from head to toe as she glares up at him.
Percy grins back at her, dutifully twirling his finger before she can say anything, removing the water on her head. (He has to focus on not removing all the water in her body, to not drain her completely dry. This is really starting to get annoying.)
OR: percy introspects on being a god, along with some very overt hints on what he could possibly be the god of.
