[Updated with an illustration for Chapter 4! 7/23/2023]
Alexander Frankenhorne has been betrayed by everyone he's ever loved, and can't stand it any more - so he'll make a monster to do his bidding and never leave him - a Taskmonster. But his efforts to keep the creature at arms length go poorly, until they are dramatically torn apart. They'll both need to change before they can find their way back to each other in a dangerous reunion. This is what happens when you go a bit too far on the thought "Alex made the Taskmaster...". Inspired by Mary Shelly's Frankenstein - including the torturous journal format and dramatic descriptive style. Gets pretty gruesome in spots due to subject matter (reanimation), and there's nothing more risqué than pining and a kiss.
All the characters named here are lovely people IRL that I would never wish any harm upon. That said, one is written as a villain, and two characters with minor appearances die.

Summary
1890 and a troubling new syndrome has struck patients of the Royal Bethlem Hospital of London, England. Doctor Alexander Jeffery, of the newly named science of psychiatry, has a special interest in curing these patients afflicted with visions, nightmares, and overwhelming desires of a deviant sexual nature. Indeed, he's close to a breakthrough - a medicine to suppress the hateful id - an idea that catches the attention of the tall, exotic, European noble who asks such probing questions and who Jeffery seems unable to get out of his thoughts.
Jeffery turns at last to the stranger in the front row, the man he’d felt a strange tightening in his stomach to address. He’s regarding Jeffery with amusement, seemingly entertained by the discomfort of his fellow audience members.
“And, sir, if you will permit me, have you not heard the whisper of its voiceless desires goading you to ever greater excesses? Ever darker extremes?”
The large gentleman, still smirking, responds immediately. “Oh, more than you’ll know, Doctor.” And it twists within Jeffery, sounding like a promise whispered in his ear rather than called out clarion like, across a crowded, muttering, hall.Series

Summary
[Edited 24th Oct with beautiful illustration at the end!] Marine Biologist Alex has been studying Llyn Tegid - the largest lake in Wales - and its fragile, delicate ecosystem. Desperate to protect its last remaining, unique, endangered species, he takes on illegal fishing operations single-handedly amidst a terrible storm - and comes to a terrible end. Then the marine biology finds him.
A merman Greg fic, Alex-PoV, set in Wales at some indeterminate time in the past, but probably around the 1970s.Alex heaves, spasming to the ends of his fingers as he explodes with air. Sweet air. Precious air. Filling his lungs that sear with it and sing with it and soar with it. Air, from a soft sealed kiss on his blue-cold lips. Air, that he sucks and gasps and shudders around. Alex’s eyes snap open – the colourless nothing shattering as life courses through his veins once more.
He must be dreaming.Bookmarked by austere_223

Summary
(For the Taskhusbands Bingo prompt: Cheating)
Alex goes home with Greg after every wrap party. For years. Greg knows he started it. But god help him, he has no idea how to end it.
“I thought we were past this. You didn’t want it. I gave you an out.” Greg says, increasingly exasperated. Whether he’s talking to himself or Alex, he isn’t entirely sure.
