He’d barely been in this random ass town with this random ass job for two weeks, and now he’s already going to be late for his second day.
The job wasn’t even anything crazy, it just paid a lot for some easy farm work, nothing more than he was used to. He’d just be getting paid this time. If there’s nothing else going on with your life, why not spontaneously move away from everyone you know for some good cash? His dad told him he was just looking for a reason to get out of his hometown, and he was probably right.
