He smells the distinct scent of rain on earth and… blood? Yakumo immediately opens his eyes when the memories rush into him. He accidentally fell into a high depression, and all he could remember before he passed out was Dante reaching out to catch him.
Dante lies unconscious beneath him, his complexion extremely pallid and unmoving. Tears spring to his eyes when he realizes that Dante had taken most of the brunt of the fall for him. Yakumo notices blood in the water pooling underneath Dante and soon finds the source of it; a piece of sharp wood on Dante’s right stomach.
“If being a fool can help your fever, then I… will stay as a fool.” Hasn’t he endured more pain in these past few hours for Dante? “Sun Lord Dante, I promised to bring you home to Mr. Eiden, to Solaria… to your people and everyone else, so I… I will do anything. Everything.”

Summary
He has always disliked Yakumo’s tears, or Yakumo’s tendency to shed his tears too easily from the slightest thing that upsets him. Dante also dislikes how some of the clan members around him tend to coddle him.
Nevertheless, he would be lying if he said watching Yakumo in this state didn’t leave an unpleasant taste in his mouth. It’s almost as though he’s witnessing himself in a similar state years ago. The Yakumo in front of him right now reminded Dante of his younger self; cutting a sorry, pathetic figure curling into himself.
Just for this once, Dante allows him to cry. And just for this once, Dante thinks Yakumo deserves to be hugged, deserves to have reassurances spoken to him.
“Then cry it out. Shed your tears and get better.”

Dennis scrunches the side of his face to keep his outdated AirPod from falling out of his ear as he slides backwards out of the attached bathroom, letting his heel spin against the smooth tile, twisting his torso into a twirl that matches with the rhythm of the song. He brings his hands up to stick two fingers right behind his ears, lost for just a moment in the beat, and he faces the half open door of the room he’s sequestered himself in.
And instead of the flickering lights of the hallway, he finds himself face to face with none other than Dr. Michael Robinavitch.
