Summary

They called them heroes. Growing up in the idyllic village of Lawrence, Dean dreamed of becoming a knight. In his nineteenth year, Dean journeyed to the Capital to earn his fortune. Sam, with his prized book of herbal knowledge clutched against his chest, travelled alongside Dean to become a man of his own. The Winchesters' drive and ambition lead them to the castle and into history as prominent figures in the Long War.
Reality proved to be far more difficult than dreams.

Summary
Some bedroom banter about penances puts a not-quite-nice idea into Aziraphale’s head, but it turns into a sweet exploration of how liberating it is for Crowley to simply surrender to his angel, and Aziraphale feeling his way into the responsibility that comes with being even a soft Dom.
Or, a four part broadside of unapologetic filth, with a fluffy little cherry on top.
He sidles around the last stack of books and sets down the bottle, and is about to swivel onto the couch when Aziraphale’s knee comes up, catching him just hard enough on the leg to throw him off balance, and he stumbles sideways. A strong hand catches him before he can hurt himself, and another shifts to press him facedown over the angel’s knees. He’s a little gobsmacked by how fast it’s happened.
The hand is quite unyielding. Aziraphale’s sitting forward so that Crowley’s just off the edge of the couch, knees on the floor. He braces his forearms on a small pile of 1860’s travel journals and experimentally pushes upward. He’s not going anywhere.

Summary
There were three things Crowley would remember about this movie. The deception-driven chaos, the blastedly delightful musical numbers, and the idle weight of Aziraphale’s hand on Crowley’s thigh, which grew ever-more insistent from about the half-hour mark.
Or: The night in the South Downs when a certain Angel debauched a certain Demon as Mamma Mia! played in the background.

Crowley carefully looked the collar over. “The inscription should cut you off from any heavenly power, no miracles, nothing. Once it’s on, only I can take it off. It will show everyone that-” Crowley shifted on his feet, “That you belong to me.”
This seemed to bring Aziraphale out of his stupor and he finally looked away from the collar, switching his gaze to Crowley’s yellow eyes. “I already do.” His voice was gentle but had the hard edge of confidence.
Crowley drew in a breath. The words traveled down his spine like electricity, lighting him up from the inside. The nerves were fading into excitement. There was still so much riding on this. A brutish display for Hell. But at the end of the day, they did belong to each other. They had said so in many different ways, this was just another display.

This is the first of a series of essays I wish to write on the Gender Politics of Sherlock fandom. There are many things I wanted to say at the official panel but was unable to, since it was derailed by a group of individuals who showed up with the intention of intimidating and harassing the panel moderator. In future essays, I’d like to share my thoughts on femslash, Mary Sues and the fridging of female characters, on heteronormativity in slash, and on queer representation beyond slash (bisexual, pansexual, asexual and trans people in fanworks and fan spaces). I’d like to touch on race and being a queer Woman of Color in a fandom mostly interested in White male characters.
Before I get to those subjects, however, I feel a need to return to the original intended topic: the essay I began writing on my phone on the plane.
And that essay is on the subject of noncon fanworks.
