Summary
The Cullens left Forks, WA in 2005 and have never returned. Now it’s 2012, and Alice and Jasper have decided to move to Michigan with Esme and Carlisle, where they will once again pose as high school students. Neither Emmett nor Rosalie are ready to begin that farce again. They’ve moved to Vermont where Rosalie can pursue a Ph.D. in engineering while Emmett works at a local bar. Rosalie and Emmett aren’t a couple, how could Bella have ever thought they were. And where’s Edward? Who knows. No one in the family has seen him in years and the little Alice can see in her visions is worrisome. Perhaps it’s true that a vampire can’t survive with their mind intact after losing a mate. Or maybe Edward’s just a manipulative asshole. Maybe he’s something worse. Rosalie, for one, doesn’t want to think about it. She’s determined to finally leave her past behind her and to take control of her life. But, is she doomed to repeat her family’s worst mistakes? Will she fare any better than Edward when a beautiful brunette takes the seat next to her on the first day of class?

Secrets are just one of many things sabotaging Aerith’s relationships, even if she doesn’t quite realize the extent of it. Tifa, too, has her problems, but most stem from a single core that she can’t seem to identify. Or maybe doesn’t want to. It’s okay, though, they’ll help each other figure it out. It’s not like there’s anything else pressing in on them.

Summary
Both Natsuki and Shizuru struggle to come to terms with their emotions and one another after the tumultuous events of The Carnival. After things returned to a semblance of normality, Natsuki and Shizuru settle into a routine they both seem to be comfortable with. But it is only a matter of time until something gives and the entire dynamic of their relationship is thrown into turmoil.
The first chapter was initially intended to be a one-shot smut but the story evolved into something more emotionally charged.
