Summary
In-ho has one chance to convince Gi-hun to join him as his right-hand-man, or else the VIPs want him dead. He agrees.
Because In-ho is right. The rebellion didn't work. It was never going to work. The players are simply too far removed from the people really in charge. Even killing the Front Man would only result in a replacement Front Man. But as the Front Man's protégé, Gi-hun can make a difference. He can do what he can for the players from above, rather than below. He can investigate the gold-masked men. He can scheme.
There's light in the darkness. In-ho helps Gi-hun get Ga-yeong back. He teaches him how to fight, how to survive in this deadly world. Slowly, slowly, they begin to trust each other. (The kissing happens long before the trust.)
Gi-hun uses his new power, undreamt of in his old life, to do what he never did before: think only of others. And the luxury helps, the high-end alcohol helps, but of course he's still tortured by guilt. But at least they're tortured together, and take sanctuary in each other. Gi-hun gets to fight in favor of the players; In-ho gets to not be alone. They both got what they wanted.
Begins immediately following the events of S2.

Summary
He doesn’t know what’s worse, getting caught by your boss with a faceful of noodles during what is definitely not the sanctioned lunch break, or the fact that he’s managed to break Rule #1. Gi-hun’s mask feels like a fifty pound weight where it rests against his thigh.
Aish, what a lame way to die.
Gi-hun wouldn’t say that he enjoys his job. When you get right down to it, life as a pink guard is days filled with hefting dead or dying bodies into coffins wrapped in bright pink bows, and then sliding those same coffins into an incinerator one after the other.
Add to that the fact that his boss, the extremely terrifying and cool Front Man of the games, has suddenly taken an interest in him, and Gi-hun is starting to think that it might be time for a much needed vacation.
Or: Guard!Gi-hun is just trying his best to pay his debts and support his sick mom, Jun-ho is still wandering around set on bringing down the games, and In-ho finds himself unexpectedly charmed by the antics of Worker 456.

Summary
"Why would you try to bring her back, knowing that she would spend her life hating you?" Viktor asked, looking down towards the girl who Singed stared at with a mourning, sorrowful glint in his hardened eyes.
"Her heart would still beat, even with hatred for me, would it not?"
Viktor remained silent, staring down at his own hands; one of flesh while the metal joints of the gray and red steel popped, steamed forced from the small opening he had made for a second before it all slotted back into place. With the Talis hammer, a symbol he had come to love and despise all in time, etched onto the piece of steel around his ring finger he balled both hands into fists as they lowered to rest at his sides.
"I understand," and for the first time in what felt like his new life, he could finally breathe again.Bookmarked by babyechidna
