Summary
“You’re really a horrible, heartless person aren’t you?”
It was obvious from how Ash phrased the question that it was rhetorical. Wifies stayed silent, waiting.
“I have to say, when I invited you both to the mafia, I was expecting Parrot to be the most useful asset between you two. You were just… baggage. An extra piece to the machine. But you’ve proved me wrong. Time, and time again, you’ve proved me wrong, Wifies. You are a horrible, selfish person. I mean– you’re barely even that! Barely a person.” Ash laughed loudly to himself. “Just look at everything you’ve done. Every actual human being you’ve killed with zero hesitation. And for what? Really, for what? I’m giving you permission to speak, Wifies.”
“For Parrot.”
“For power,” Ash corrected. “Because that’s what you need right? To protect him? You can’t have anything without power.”

Summary
Parrot’s best friend killed that part of himself that was weak, that was “Wifies,” birthing “The Director” in his place. Someone new. Someone who was perfect. Someone who would keep Parrot safe.
Except none of that is true, actually– A fact which took Parrot far too long to realise. Now, he has to fix his mistake, and save his best friend in the process… but the only way to do that is by giving up on the idea of saving himself. Impossible, for someone who values true freedom above all else.
What a conundrum. Surely this won’t be horrifically difficult.

Summary
Dakota Cole wants nothing more than to be a superhero and protect the people he cares about. He just has to keep up the secret, navigate school, and manage all of the difficult social situations that come with being a hero.
-
The best part about being back in the city was Dakota’s little side gig secret. He was a superhero…. or at least as close as he could be without being officially licensed by W.A.T.C.H. Last year, he spent a lot of time getting his powers in check. Controlling them. This was the first time he’s actually gone out to be a hero! However, he wasn’t expecting to be the talk of the town and the school's favorite topic of conversation.

Summary
Karkat practically flies up the stairs to the meteor’s roof. He can’t hear anything over his own breathing, but he feels the snapping of blood from blood.
He feels when things are wrong. And oh fuck, are they ever wrong. He feels like he’s going to throw up, but he just forces himself to fall up the steps even faster. Don’t be late again. Don’t fucking do that, Vantas.
He stumbles out, heaving in breaths as he takes in the scene, brain working furiously to compensate for the terror thrumming in his veins and the pounding of his head.
