Summary
Series was formerly "Remus Lupin and the darkness", but evolved way beyond that.
I should probably make clear somewhere that these are standalones in that they share some sort of continuity, but occasionally veer of into different AUs at different points of the timestream. So Not By Force is definitely not where things are meant to go, it's just an exercise in misery ^^

Summary
After the War, there is a massive need for young witches and wizards to take up new callings, especially in the healing fields, but with St. Mungo’s Healing School having been destroyed and most of the professors murdered by Death Eaters and other Voldemort sympathizers, the task to relearn the healing arts falls unknowingly upon the muggles and their schools.
Draco Malfoy is sent to the United States as part of his punishment for his actions in the war, and he decides to enter the medical field as a means of repaying his debt to society. Unbeknownst to him, Hermione Granger has also taken up the call to become a doctor. As things start to go wrong at St. Mungo's, the Ministry panics and practically begs every known Healer from the United Kingdom to return and reinvigorate the healing arts.
Two rivals meet again, but things have changed, and so have they. Hermione is burying herself in work to escape her personal life, Draco's work IS his personal life, but that's all about to change when they come face to face in the ER department at St. Mungo's.

Summary
JK has said she always intended to give Hermione a little sister but never wrote her in. Hermione is technically older than most kids in her year due to her birthday. This came about in roughshod fashion just to let the ideas out. I may continue. Or where Hermione's sister is a Slytherin and it changes nothing.
