Bookmarker's Notes
This Alternate Universe (AU) series explores the tension between an artist and his muse in the 1920s art scene. Brad Crawford is the artist, and an American World War I veteran living in England. Schuldig is the muse, and infuriatingly intriguing German-born Englishman. These characters have been transplanted to a different time and country, but still feel completely in-character. In addition to being the most satisfying slow-burn romance that I have ever read, the author also explores the consequences of being a survivor, immigration, period-typical discrimination, internalize biases and art culture in ways that are subtle, authentic, and humane. It is well worth the read.

These comics are adorable. The artist's take on Victor and Ethan does not match my own, but I still enjoyed it very much. Also, I liked that Angelique made an appearance and was treated kindly.
