Summary
The presence of the person who pretty much ruined her life in high school wasn't what Natalie was expecting on a random Friday night at her apartment.
And yet, there she was.
Lottie Matthews, in the flesh.
Or was she?
That Lottie was different. She lacked the confidence, the air of superiority, the self assuredness.
The old Lottie remembered, spoke. The new Lottie was a mystery. A mystery Natalie wasn't in the right mind to solve.
And yet, she had to.
Her roommates knew what went down between them and still let Lottie stay for the night. They gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Natalie was unaware of how deep the rabbit hole went.

“So, correct me if I’m wrong, your whole plan, transaction, whatever, is that you tutor me so I don’t get kicked off soccer and I act as your guard dog at parties?”
“That’s not how I’d phrase it but yeah, pretty much.”
“What makes you so sure I’ll scare off the guys?”
“Just a hunch.”
“Y’know what, princess, you might just have yourself a deal.”

Charlotte Matthews hopes no one is noticing how long she stares at Natalie Scatorccio, the nerd with the bad boy aura.
Natalie Scatorccio can't take Charlotte Matthews seriously, in her mind she's nothing but a snobby rich girl.
There's a social barrier that keeps Charlotte from getting close to Natalie, or used to, because when they conveniently need people to take care of the music for the winter ball, the two end up willingly - or nearly so - and embark on a boatload of guitar solos and provocations.Bookmarked by batmatthews

Summary
“Do you want to get out of here?”
She sees Nat in her peripheral vision, floating in the pool beside her, her face normally covered with hair floating out around her head, eyes normally clouded with eyeliner that she hasn’t bothered to put on for her audience of Lottie and Lottie alone. She smiles at Lottie, the way she does when they’re alone, the way that Lottie loves, but would never point out for fear that Nat’ll stop doing it if she does. That look in her eyes, in the curve of her lips, the tenderness, the raw affection.
“Whatever you want, Lot. I’ll be there.”
.lottie's parents skip her high school graduation. her and nat go on a road trip to get away from it. seven days of just nat, lottie, and the road. they come back from the road trip, but their emotional journey has only just begun.

Summary
“Lottie? Lottie Matthews?” Nat asks incredulously. Lottie practically beams that Nat apparently remembers her, but if Nat is being honest with herself, she barely does.
Lottie Matthews was on her high school soccer team for basically a year and a half. They had hit it off well enough, they worked well as a team, and then her rich-as-fuck dad produced some hit movie and hauled his entire family off to California never to be seen again.
So this is where she ended up.

“Okay, let’s assume this is a sane idea, how would that even work?” Natalie moves to stand in front of her. “I just go up to someone and ask ‘Hey, would you want to fake date me to make my ex jealous?’. Who would even agree to that?”
Later, Lottie will blame Van and Tai for making her think of Natalie before getting to the party and then leaving her alone. Later, she will blame Shauna and Jackie for making her take shots. Later, she will blame Mari for something she's yet to come up with and hell, she’ll blame Jeff's friend too.
But for now, Lottie will open her mouth and ignore that she is to blame for being nothing other than an impulsive mess around this girl.

Summary
“Oh wow” Vi chuckled, starting her third lap as she used the shortcut that she had found during a Mario Kart tournament with her siblings. “So your sister... is she hot? More importantly, is she single?”
“Woah” Jayce immediately paused the fucking game. Honestly, the nerve of this guy. He turned towards Vi, looking dead serious.
“I think you missed like the first basic rule we have here in our fraternity.”
Will rolled his eyes at his brother’s dramatic-ass attitude. Vi had to agree it was a bit – a lot – over the top. “It’s an unspoken rule that you aren’t allowed to fuck the sister of one of your bros.”
Vi let a chuckle escape as she nodded. "Sure, not a problem"
She wasn't into nerdy bitches anyways.

Summary
“If someday you did develop feelings for someone, would you tell them?” Vi asked
Caitlyn shrugged, curling inwards on herself slightly “I don’t know”.
“Why not?”
Caitlyn chewed her lip for a moment, absently tugging at a loose thread on her jeans.
“Because even if I developed feelings I couldn’t guarantee I could offer them what they wanted. Then it seems pretty selfish to deny them the chance of getting everything with someone else.”
Vi huffed and shook her head softly, a tired smile tugging at her lips “And if you were everything they wanted?”
Caitlyn looked over then, meeting Vi’s gaze “Don’t think the chance of that are very high but if you find them, let me know”.While both Caitlyn and Vi seem perfectly put together on the surface they both feel pretty lost underneath. An unlikely friendship brings them together and sends them on a journey to trying to figure out who they are and what they want to be happy.
