    Summary

Sakusa doesn't realize the gravity of what he's just said. Doesn't realize that the silence thereafter stretches a little longer than it should. That Miya Atsumu—a man usually rife with quips and banter—has now gone quiet, a mysterious aberration breaking his wit. Sakusa's grave miscalculation doesn't come back to bite him until the silence turns overripe and rotten. Until Atsumu's voice comes sinuous and coy, unfurling like a spool down the hallway.

"Omi, ya never told me ya have a dog!"

    He feels his stomach drop.

or; Atsumu leashes Sakusa up, and turns him into his puppy (although he still needs to be potty trained)

    Summary

“Always wanted to fuck a goth babe,” Atsumu comments casually. His gaze finds a home on Kiyoomi’s lips. “I bet you’re a freak in bed, huh?”

It’s a horrible pick up attempt. Kiyoomi resents the anticipation that twists in his gut, resents all the sly smiles and weighted stares that work exactly how they’re intended to. Resents that Atsumu knows what he’s doing, wearing Kiyoomi down until he snaps under the tension.

Well, two can play this game, and Kiyoomi’s not going down without a fight.

“You could say that,” Kiyoomi answers, matching Atsumu’s indifferent tone. “Probably would be too much for you.”

    Summary

“If I missed you,” Kiyoomi said slowly, “that would mean it’s not over.”

Atsumu stared at him in silence, different emotions flitting over his sharp features: anger, disbelief, sadness, grief. Atsumu stepped into the water, his eyes wide and determined. “Are you gonna miss me, Omi?”

Kiyoomi dug his fingernails into his palm and prayed to draw blood. He took a shaky breath, trying to expel the lump in his throat, but all that came out was his shaky voice. “Stop asking me that question.”

“Why?” Atsumu dared him. “‘Cause it’d mean it’s not over?”

Months after their breakup, Kiyoomi and Atsumu accidentally run into each other only a few days before Atsumu leaves to play in Brazil. Atsumu invites Kiyoomi on a trip to the beach for one last goodbye, and Kiyoomi reluctantly agrees, hoping to finally find closure—or something else he's too afraid to face.

    Summary

    Sakusa Kiyoomi doesn’t do mess.
Not in his apartment. Not in his routines. And definitely not in his feelings.

But then there’s Miya Atsumu. He’s loud and golden and impossible to ignore — and suddenly Sakusa is breaking his own rules, lingering too long, looking too close, wanting things he’s spent years pretending he didn’t want at all.

    It’s wrong.
Or at least, it’s supposed to be.

But Atsumu is kind in ways Sakusa isn’t ready for, soft in the spaces that hurt the most, and relentless in his honesty. And Sakusa starts to unravel.

A story about repression, jealousy, firsts, and the terrifying beauty of letting yourself be loved anyway.

    Summary

“What unites both generations [OF ASIAN AMERICANS], Eng and Han suggest, is a kind of linguistic lack, a missing vocabulary—a paucity of stories that they might tell themselves about where they are going, and what it would mean to feel whole.”

Kiyoomi Sakusa has spent the last seventeen years believing he is boring. He has never met anyone inclined to challenge this belief.
