He turns, and yeah, this guy doesn’t look like much of a smoker. Ilya’s learned through time and experience that stoners come in all shapes and sizes, but it’s clear that he isn’t one: hair cut neat and short, straight-laced, brows furrowed into a scowl, shoulders all tight—too squared away. He’s probably not much of a drinker, either, if Ilya had to guess.
And he’s wearing a fucking suit, for Christ’s sake.
So boring, Ilya thinks, strangely delighted. He wants to take him by the collar and scruff up his hair, if only to see what he might do in response.
Or, Shane's struggling with anxiety. Hayden thinks his grumpy weed dealer might be able to help.

Summary
"You," Buck sucks in a shaky breath and reminds himself that he knows what real love is now, that he never again needs to settle for some cheap imitation, "You never loved me. You don't hit the people you love. You don't send them to the hospital with broken bones and blood loss and concussions."
Buck recognizes the twitch in Kyle's jaw, knows he's pushing, knows that now is the time that he's supposed to make himself small and apologize and promise to do better.
But he's not that man anymore.

Summary

It’s taunting, it’s teasing, it’s too much, and Hangman has hit the nail on the head. That’s the most terrifying part of it all, the fact Rooster bears his emotion on the outside of his skin, tries to mould himself into liminal spaces where he’s just a blur.
He clenches his jaw, turns his head, decides he’d rather gaze down at the water, rather than stare anyone in the face. Especially—well, especially that face.
