Buck takes another deep breath, steadier this time. “I- I told you about the- the other me, right?”

He lets out a slow exhale, nodding. “I keep- I keep having these dreams, ever since I came back. He-” a shudder runs through Buck- “he’s killed everyone I love, Eddie."

Summary
After a one-night stand that Buck can't get out of his head, things turn awkward when the guy- Eddie Diaz- turns out to be the new probationary firefighter at Buck's station. For Eddie, the first guy he ever hooked up with is suddenly in every aspect of his life and he doesn't know what exactly to do with it. Cue the pining, not-so-clandestine hookups, and lots and lots of confusion and insecurity.

“Buck,” Eddie says, sharply, and it sounds… off. Buck frowns, pulling back. Did he go too far? The guy literally tracked down Buck’s work, what was he expecting, exactly?
“Buckley!” Bobby’s voice comes from directly behind Buck and he feels his face heating up as he turns, praying his captain didn’t just see that.
“Hey Cap!”
“For the love of God, Buckley, let the man put on his uniform before you start harassing him,” Bobby chuckles, walking straight past Buck to clap a hand on Eddie’s shoulder. “Glad to see you two’ve met. Firefighter Buckley, this is our new probationary firefighter, Eddie Diaz.”
Buck’s first coherent thought is: Diaz. Eddie Diaz.
His second coherent thought, just as eloquent, is: Oh, fuck.

Summary
A sequel to crashing, i'm crashing right into you, told from Eddie's perspective. Follows Eddie getting the call from Maddie, finding Buck, the painful wait in the hospital, and the two comatose weeks while the follow. Including (but not only): the scene of the crash and the aftermath, a never heard before talk from Eddie to Buck, the infamous 911 call (the way it really happened), and just how close Eddie was to falling apart entirely.

Eddie’s world slams back into focus. He starts to run forward, but a body moves in front of him, arms out to catch him.
“Sir, I need you to stay back and let my people do their job,” a voice says. Eddie barely registers it, shoving at the firefighter and moving forwards again. Another person comes over, each of them in his way. The world is spinning, a blur aside from Buck.
“That’s my partner!” he shouts, his voice cracking. His voice sounds distant to himself. Everything is numb, all he can feel is a clawing panic tearing at his heart. “That’s- he’s- get out of my fucking way!”

Buck gets an unfortunate call while driving and spirals before getting hit by a drunk driver. Surprise, coma!buck is real and can hear the things people (Eddie and Maddie) say while he's unconscious. Follows the struggles Buck deals with while trying to come back and the ones he has to face if he does.
6.07 spec, so the sperm donor issue is a Thing.

There’s silence for a few moments as Buck struggles to no avail. Then, “Chris misses you.” A face flashes in Buck’s mind. Curly hair, like his. Blue eyes, just a few shades off from his own. Glasses. Big, goofy grin. For a beat, he thinks he’s seeing the child he could have had. Then- no, the name sinks in and no, this isn’t his kid. It’s just the one he wishes was his. “He’s been asking about you, if he can see you. I- I keep telling him no. You- you wouldn’t want him to see you like this, when you can’t respond. I know that. But.. it’s hard Buck,” he admits, his voice breaking, “it’s so hard. I don’t want the next time he sees you to be… to be at a funeral. I really, really need you to come back.”
It’s more painful than the crash itself when Buck realizes he can’t do what the voice is asking.

1) Ice Cream Ficlet
"You just broke my heart, Eddie."
"Buck, don't you think you might be...?"
"Be what?" Buck demands, narrowing his eyes.
"Overreacting? Just a bit?"
2) Rejection Ficlet
"Just tell me why, Buck," Eddie says, his voice raw and thick with tears. Tears swim in his eyes and Buck's heart is breaking.
"Please, I need you to believe me, Eddie," he practically begs. "I don't- I don't want to hurt you, that's not- it's not what this is, okay? I never want to hurt you."
Eddie laughs wetly. "You have a weird way of showing it."

"Please," Buck begs, lips turned down in a pout and gorgeous blue eyes pleading.
