The prevalence of the written word was obvious not just in Skyrim at the time of the last Dragonborn, but in every other part of Tamriel as well. So why Etheara himself never bothered to write anything down, especially given his affiliation through the bulk of his journey is beyond scholars today. However, the companions and other people Etheara touched through the course of his adventures had much the opposite instinct, much to our delight. Through their words, we are happy to present the quilted story of the last Dragonborn.
