While traveling through America alone for the first time, George ends up stranded in Florida when his housing plan falls through. After scouring the internet for a short-term room to rent, he lands on quite possibly the weirdest post he's ever seen--alpha seeking beta for non-sexual hook up. Given his tight budget and the shortest available rentals being month-to-month, George makes the questionable decision to respond to the ad. All he could do was hope the alpha wasn't a creep... or mind the fact he's an omega.

“Yeah,” Mike says, “m’fine. Just- just really glad you’re here. It wouldn’t be the same without you. Hawkins never is, y’know?”
“Yeah,” Will says, “I know.”

Not to be dramatic, but Mike was fairly certain he was about to die.
He’d survived demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, Vecna, actual interdimensional monsters - and now it seemed a staircase and a half-naked Will Byers were going to finish the job. He’d genuinely believed he’d at least make it to graduation.
Apparently, that had been optimistic.

Summary
Whatever was thrumming between them, whatever was dripping from the low cadence of Mike’s voice — it was the same thing that had bloomed behind Will’s eyelids as he locked eyes with Mike in that lamplight. A tension seemed to rise, one that Will couldn’t make any sense of. He wanted to write it off. Wished that he could.

"You left me," Mike says, gravely serious but somehow still so young in his demeanour, brow a little heavier than usual, lips still pouty. Will frowns too, rubbing at Mike's arm, feeling the soft hairs underneath his palm and loving him over and over again.
"Uh-huh." Mike doesn't elaborate again. "You're being very vague –"
"For someone else. In my dream," he finally mutters before burying his face back into Will's arm, leaving the rest of his comment muffled, though the brokenness of it can still be made out. "You broke up with me in my dream for… someone else."
