They had been human before, the two of them. The things pitter-pattered about in the dingy old cell, separated from the twins by an iron-bar partition. The skin dripped loosely off them, like wallpaper sloughing off of plaster, and the fingers of the two were black and rotted. It fit them, she thought, idly licking her lips.
“It took forever to get them on their own.” She said. The cell block they were in was walled with stone which echoed her voice loudly, for there being no other meaningful noise – the two zombies only mumbled indistinctly, the vague rememberings of muscle memory trying to speak. “Herding them like cattle.”
She looked briefly at her sister. “They used to be human. They had lives, just like us.”

Lindsey nodded and did as she was told. As they opened, the thing in between glistened with excited sheen in the dim orange light. Annie’s thumb reached down tentatively, like a heron’s beak edging near the water, waiting for a fish to swim by underneath. It planted itself – her thumbprint was irrevocably etched into her little clit. Immediately the girl’s breath hitched. She felt like the world was falling out from under her. At just a touch, her heart was pounding like she'd just ran a marathon. She didn’t know this. This was new.
She was tingling. She knew that.

Annie ropes herself into finally going out with that 8-year-old, even if she knows she shouldn't. She learns that the devil on her shoulder will never not get the better of her.

Annie held her cigarette between her fingers. It winked fitfully as she raised it to her mouth, almost asking oh are you sure as its smug stream of smoke drifted up with it. It landed in her mouth, between her lips – Lindsey couldn’t tell if she focused on them or on the cigarette. Orange glow, it winked like a tempting devil.
Bad, evil, oh, she was.

There’s a marquee at the edge of town, and everyone knows what goes on there the first day they get into high school. The slower people figure it out in a week, and it clicks for the slowest after a month. They held the circus there back in the day, when the money was still flowing; the cotton candy was better than the stuff at the corner store and cigarettes hadn’t been invented yet.
Now, the tent is still propped up though the circus went bust since. The colours are dulled and the barbed-wire fences have been torn up so many times they stopped coming back. There’s a bulldozer idle out front, rusting with boredom, and the generator was forced out of commission with an axe a few months back by an owner trying to avoid any lawsuits.

The Republic's forces, battered and beaten by a war as long as Koray Chuchi's entire life, had entered into peace talks in the Mid Rim that had been offered by the Sith Empire out of nowhere. Desperate for any respite, they took it. And now Coruscant, abandoned by its servitors, was under siege. These pilots can try their best to disable even a small part of the Sith offensive, but they dare not consider how little an impact their actions may truly have.
