Summary
Kim Sunoo feels stuck. He’s in a two-year relationship that’s lost its spark and working a job that drains him more each day. He’s convinced this is just how life goes, that settling is easier than risking the hope for something more.
Then Lee Heeseung walks in. Bold, confident, and far too charming for his own good, he sees right through Sunoo’s defenses. The flirting starts off as a joke, something Sunoo tells himself he can ignore. Until he can’t. No matter how hard he tries to push it away, Heeseung might be right about a lot of things. And maybe, just maybe, Sunoo is finally ready to stop settling and start listening.Bookmarked by bluesidesbae

Summary
It is a stupidly terrifying thought to picture Seoul without Nicholas in it. Nicholas has been less of a friend and more of a fact, something Euijoo never considered removable. And now—maybe he is. Maybe tomorrow or February or some terrible soon, Nicholas will shift categories from person I know like a second self to person I used to know.
And if this goes horribly—if Euijoo does what he’s planning and it detonates right in his face—he can always claim ignorance in the morning. He can blame the beer. He can say he doesn’t remember. Because what he’s about to do is stupid. Not just stupid—borderline catastrophic. But there’s another voice, quieter, stubborn: better to look stupid now than to spend the rest of your life wondering what if.

Summary
"Well, you couldn’t script it, could you? Best mates as kids, apparently, and proper rivals now—and the big question, really, is whether they can let it go now that it’s come to it, or if old grudges really do die hard…”
(The soccer/football fic in which the tension is built less from actual rivalry and more from a complicated shared past. And wanting each other's bodies, obviously.)

Summary
“Tell me to leave,” Euijoo finally says, words dripping with barely stifled emotion. “Nicho, tell me to go.”
But Nicholas has always been a slave to his hunger. It was the thing that pushed him thousands of kilometers from home, wrung the last of his childhood dreams out of his soul, landed him on his best friend’s doorstep even after he’d spent the last three excruciating months trying to let him go.
Nicholas, dealing with the aftermath of being abruptly cast out of the fashion industry he’s dreamed his whole life about, ends up having to crash at Euijoo’s. His heat ruins things, and then some.

Summary
'I just mean,' Nicholas starts, then looks away like he’s nervous. He has this badly disguised, kicked-kitten expression that Euijoo remembers from when they were younger, when he used to think to himself, I can’t believe there are people scared of him at school. 'All those years alone? So lonely, Juju! Not even any flings—'
'No,' says Euijoo through his teeth, frustrated and humiliated and mostly a little starved. 'There’s no one. Not since—' And then he swallows his own tongue.
Those strange, wonderful, inseparably close teenage years; the freedom in inevitably drifting apart; and the ache of the aftermath.

Summary
there's no plausible deniability if these pictures come out–god forbid they already have–because how on earth are they going to twist it and try to convince everyone that the man bending over what looks like a public toilet sink isn’t him? nicholas stares at it–tries to find a loophole, any loophole, he’s panicking too much to think about shame.
there he is. half naked. pants shoved down and pooled around his ankles. back arched. dark hair all over the place, overgrown strands curling on the back of his sweaty neck. he could deny it, technically, but no one else in the world probably has the same scar on their right forearm.

Summary
‘Call me if you need anything else.’
There’s that illusion of choice–the word ‘if’ gave Nicholas a way out. But looking back, it wasn’t really a choice at all. Not when he’d gravitated towards Euijoo the first day he stepped foot inside that hospital. Not when he’d try to catch Euijoo’s eyes whenever they had morning briefings. Not when he needed two years to muster up the courage to ask for his number. Euijoo was the magician and Nicholas had played right into his trick–but who had built it all up in the first place?

Summary
“So they do exist,” Yudai correctly assumes, “to be fair, there’s only one type of person that can handle your craziness.”
Nicholas looks up from his note, staring at Yudai. “And that would be?”
“Someone who’s as married to their job as you are.” Yudai replies smoothly, like it’s the most obvious thing in the whole world.
“So basically–no one.” Nicholas snorts, putting his pen inside the pocket of his scrubs top.
“Or,” Yudai counters with a sly smirk, “someone just reckless–or brave–enough to think that you’re worth it.”

Summary
He likes the idea–how the heart takes care of itself, on autopilot, immune to emotions and distractions. But it can also betray you. Arrhythmias, heart failure, blockages–things can go wrong in the most delicate ways and then poof, you’re worm food. His heart hasn’t betrayed him–at least not in a way it matters–and yet, now, he feels the most betrayed he has ever felt with it because he doesn’t know why it feels like it’s beating out of his chest.
Maybe because Euijoo’s looking straight at him, maybe because he’s just kissed the narrow space in between his pecs so delicately it makes his chest burn, maybe because he looks so damn good on top of him.

Summary
Euijoo throws his head back and Nicholas can only stare at the protruding jugular vein along Euijoo’s neck; he contorts his body and places his lips on it, sucking lightly, biting down slowly, eager to hear another choked moan escape Euijoo’s lips. Euijoo puts a hand on Nicholas’ nape—the sudden touch making it all feel slightly more intimate than usual. There’s a sinking feeling stirring inside Nicholas’ stomach from the touch alone.
He knows it’s not the time to think about how good Euijoo looks under him nor is it the time to think about the schematics of whatever they have going on.

nicholas knows having a crush on the hot, slightly emotionally unavailable pediatrician is a reckless move but a more reckless move would be to make said hot, emotionally unavailable pediatrician his hookup partner. (and who is nicholas if not a risk-taker?)

Summary
Nicholas steps over, paw pads silent against the hardwood. He rests his head on Euijoo’s chest, wraps his arms around his middle and sighs softly. Euijoo’s breath catches in his throat and the stinging in his eyes makes it hard to see straight. But the feline doesn’t let go, rubbing his cheek against Euijoo’s sternum. “Don’t make it a big deal.”
Euijoo will come to learn what all it entails. For now, he assumes it means Nicholas’ affection. It’s tough, but Euijoo will comply. “Okay. I won’t.”It's the twenty-third century. Felines live almost normally amongst humans. In Euijoo's case it means sharing a house with one by the name of Nicholas.

Summary
Euijoo stood just a few feet away, eyes blown wide, mouth parted slightly as if the words had been knocked out of him.
The scent hit him first — thick and overwhelming, soaked into the walls. Euijoo staggered back a step, caught off guard, his expression flickering from confusion to understanding to something deeper. Something broken.
Nicholas scrambled back against the wall like a trapped animal, his hands scraping at the floor. “Don’t — Don’t come near me —” His voice cracked, high and hoarse. “Please — Don’t.”
Life as a Beta was all Nicholas knew ever since he left Taiwan.
He trained, survived, and debuted.
Things were okay --- until they weren't.

Summary
Nicholas leans against the concrete wall by the station. He has to look up to meet Euijoo’s eyes, just a tiny lift of his chin. Euijoo keeps seeing the vague outlines of what Nicholas is thinking seconds before he even thinks it. In this industry—in this awful, vapid industry—it’s a virtue. Euijoo hasn’t spoken to someone this open, who makes him want to open up like this in years.
“I guess I just keep wondering,” Nicholas says, shy and unflinching in equal measure, looking right at him. “Does anybody really know you?”

On his 22nd birthday, Euijoo starts hearing Nicholas' thoughts in his head. Well, hearing is a strong word. But Nico's thoughts are in his head, and it's both a blessing and a curse (literally).
It's also, most definitely, a journey.

Summary
As he finishes speaking, Yūdai turns to Nicholas with an intense gaze. Nicholas almost imagines hearing him ask, Where are your roots, Nicholas?
I would like to put my roots down where Euijoo is also, Nicholas would probably reply, if he was being really honest with himself, if he dared to speak those words out loud and have them become true in that way. I bloom most splendidly whenever he is looking at me, after all.
or: You’d think that Nicholas would have this whole being in love with your best friend thing figured out after six years. Euijoo kissing him complicates matters.

Summary
Nicholas rolls his eyes, the corner of his mouth pulling upwards into—and Euijoo hates to say it, because it sounds like a fucking cliche, and he is so not that kind of boy—but it’s a smirk. Wang Nicholas is smirking at Byun Euijoo. “All of my friends know each other,” he says, slowly, leaning forward. “And their friends know each other too, ad infinitum. So I need someone outside of that group, since they’d all know immediately that I was lying if I showed up with someone they knew. You get me?”
“You need me because I’m boring,” Euijoo summarises. “And because nobody knows me.”
“Something like that,” says Nicholas, and he looks way too casual for someone who’s asking another boy to fake date him.
or: Nicholas is really hot, really rich, and really far out of Euijoo’s league. So, what does he need Euijoo for?
