Ever since the Kraang invasion, he'd been trying to step up as team leader. Setting training times, keeping up with villians, even learning about.. eugh.. Donnie's science stuff.
He had two years of lost time to make up for, and a whole lot of trust to regain. This mission was step one.
Raph had caught something nasty, so he was directing Donnie and Mikey on his own. Luckily, this was the perfect mission for it. A simple in-and-out steal ordeal. Low stakes.
Big Mama was hosting a masquerade ball slash unveiling of her new project, which would obviously be nefarious. Donnie was slipping into her office to check for any internal documents they could sabotage, Mikey was monitoring the perimeter to see what villians were attending, and Leo had the easy job. Watching, listening, and chatting with as many highbrow looking guests as possible for potential secrets. All they had to do was not get caught.

One year after the Apocalypse-That-Wasn't, Crowley and Aziraphale have settled into a new routine: keeping an eye on supernatural happenings in the world and preventing Heaven or Hell from interfering too much with humanity. It's not a bad job - despite occasional rains of fish - and if there are some unspoken things they really ought to talk about, well, they have all the time in the world now to get around to that, right?
At least, until the Archangel Raphael turns up on their doorstep looking for help... and it starts to become clear that the world is changing fast, and so are they.
Or: Crowley and Aziraphale start a detective agency. Shenanigans ensue. Slowburn continues. Apparently, there is plot. I have some thoughts about Heaven, Hell, and humanism. There will be stupid jokes and a healthy sprinkling of angst.
