Summary
When Death called upon Life to help, she had no idea what they would find at the theatre. Here in the ether, the disturbance she felt was notably familiar, but concerning.
Finding two very irritable ineffable souls, sent there straight by God, was not only a surprise, but a very dangerous game. Would she and Death be able to figure out in time what God was playing at?
In other words:
Written from the POV of Life: At the point God ends their world, before any big bangs, Aziraphale and Crowley first get tossed to the ether to meet Life and Death, because no soul who meets an end escapes that fate first. But something is wrong. This is the story of Life and Death bickerflirting, as they do, to try and figure God out and help the ineffables on with their journey.

Summary
It started, as many such cases often did, as a tickle.
Crowley woke up feeling it in the back of his throat the next morning and immediately knew he was fucked.
Not actually, yet; sure, the frog that had leapt and lodged itself between his tonsils and larynx was annoying and scratchy, but he could still ignore it.
He told himself he would find a way to burn it out before it could set up shop.
Yes, he was aware that particular statement went directly against his cold-bloodied reality, yes, that included keeping Aziraphale in the dark about the whole thing and no, Crowley wasn’t prepared to talk about it.
Aziraphale and Crowley moved to their cottage in the South Downs a little over a year ago, and think themselves out of trouble. They’re wrong. Six thousand years is a long time for everything not to happen at least once; and it’s all Crowley’s fault.

Summary
"I think I sold a book."
Had Crowley been one to gamble (which he was), he would've put good money on those words never leaving Aziraphale's mouth. And yet, that's exactly what greets him when he saunters into the bookshop one dreary afternoon.
The only problem is, the angel is not entirely certain that's what actually happened.
Ever the helpful demon, Crowley volunteers to come along to retrieve the rare first edition. Except he soon finds himself wondering whether the book might hold more value to Aziraphale than he first thought.
