Instead, his concentration kept slipping over the words, over their teacher’s monotone voice, and of course, over to one side.
To Fluixon, who had fallen asleep exactly ten minutes into the lecture.

Summary
Startling gasps were ripped from his throat, eyes being able to open now without the stinging agony of the chemical in them. The hot pain was now replaced with the coldness of the air on his head. He turned back and rested his hands on the lip of the sink, leaning back and looking at his captors.
Now able to think just a little bit more clearly, he heard talk of execution and torture. Which was... not ideal.
The tyrannical rule that he had unknowingly sealed his fate with was plotting his death and he was soaking wet. Saps truly couldn't believe his luck.

The Truthless Recluse was most definitely not waiting for the Sage of Truth’s arrival. It was nothing but mere coincidence that he was currently sitting down on a chair in the entrance room, his seeing flower staff conveniently tilted in the general direction of the front door entrance. It just so happened to be just past noon, the usual time the Sage came by to visit his Spire of Deceit at the Peak of Truth.
It was also worthy to note that the Recluse was more than used to lying to himself.
But that fact of Truth had nothing to do with what he was telling himself right now, of course.
