Nestled against the corner furthest from the front entrance was the checkout counter, and behind it stood a young woman. Her long brown hair was held back from her face by a bandana, and an apron was tied around her front. When she noticed them, her soft features rose into a smile so big and bright she had to squint her eyes.
Yato did not consider himself above cliche, and so would readily admit that his heart did, in fact, skip a beat.
In which Hiyori owns a flower shop, Yato causes a minor disaster, and somehow things end up working out, in the end.

He stares down at the tiny mark burning itself into his skin. There’s a slight sting to it, like he’s drawing a fine-point pen across the back of his hand, at the base of his thumb. A tiny, five-pointed star, a deep purple in color, sets emblazoned where moments before, there had been nothing. His breath catches in his throat.

Matt has a soulmate, Shiro does not. Something pulls them together anyway, like gravity, and the their determination to be together may just be enough to bend fate for them.

When they’re both selected for the Kerberos Mission, it’s a dream come true. Then Adam leaves Shiro, and it’s like that dream has fractured. Matt’s there for his friend – he always will be – but six months in space with broken hearts leads to a lot of spilling emotions.

When he realized the pain wasn’t going to let up any time soon, he swept the blankets back and swung his legs over the edge of the bed. His vision swam for a moment, the pulsing in his head causing his stomach to churn. As things came into focus, he realized with a groan that his shoulder was acting up again. He grabbed his pillow and spare blanket from the foot of the bed and shuffled out of the room, careful not to jostle himself too much lest the migraine get worse.
Shiro has a bad night, but finds comfort in the two people who understand him best.

Summary
Matt grew up in a world where super heroes were a normal thing. One of his best friends, Shiro, becoming one of the most popular super heroes, helps get Matt a job at the Altean Hero Agency, designed to help super heroes in a world where they are a new occurrence. As Shiro, the hero known as the Black Paladin, becomes more popular, he's joined by others creating a team known as Voltron, which includes Matt's younger sibling.
Matt's fine with not having a super power, has grown used to it. What he doesn't like is the questions that others ask him about Shiro, about his personal life. Matt has always wanted Shiro to notice him, to realize that he cared for him more than just as friends. As far as Matt can tell, Shiro is just not interested in men.
Everything changes the day that the Galran attack the agency...
