She can still feel the phantom pressure of his hands in her hair from five minutes ago when he had her pressed against the side of his car and there's something in the way Jack's thumb is steadily stroking her hand that makes her think that this might be it. She's not sure if Jack can read the breadth of her excitement off her face and wonders if he has any idea how wet she is. There's a dark look in his eyes when she looks back at him over her shoulder that makes her think he sees at least part of it.

She eyes the prickly hair on her shins that’s just growing back in, trying to decide if it’s visible. Unfortunately, it most definitely is, and she lets out an annoyed noise as she gracelessly toes off her shoes again, a bit more violently than she might if she wasn’t as frustrated. Because there goes the outfit she chose. A yellow sundress that falls down to just above her knees is not exactly known for covering up her legs, after all.

She hated the feeling of being helpless and needy. Maybe even hated admitting that she had needs. The idea of baring them to someone, even someone she loved, put her on edge. She knew that Jack was offering to take care of her, but she also knew even he had his limits.
As Samira stewed on it, she didn't see the harm in pushing those limits a little. If Jack was going to send her home from work because she was too sick to help other people, then perhaps she'd show him what being too sick to help herself would look like.

Jack wasn’t sure if he had been sitting huddled on his couch for five minutes or five hours. His bones and muscles ached, deep and heavy, like moving his body from its current position would cost him more energy than he had left. His throat ached, exacerbated by a heaving dry cough, and his nose was refusing to make a choice between runny and stuffed up.
A soft voice rang out as the door opened. “Jack, don’t freak out. It’s just me. I used the key.”
Samira had a key. It was too early in their relationship for her to have a key, probably, but that didn't stop Jack from sliding one on her keychain after the second night she spent there.
