Will stood there for a second, shocked. Mike hadn’t been this cold to him in a long time. It was probably years ago, when- when they had that fight in Mike’s driveway. About El. Mentally, Will acknowledged the irony that once again, they were fighting about El, but this time for the opposite reason.
Still, he stood his ground. “I care, Mike, because not only are you my best friend, but El is basically my sister! You are two of the most important people in the world to me, and I care about both of your feelings. Why are you trying to convince me this isn’t a big deal?”

“She’s grown on me. Robin. She seems good for you.”
There is a slight edge to her voice that has Will quickly meeting her gaze. Her lips are quirked up at the corners, and her eyebrow is cocked knowingly. It takes Will a minute to process what she’s insinuating, because the idea seems so ridiculous. But when realization sets in, his eyes widen, and it takes everything in him not to burst into laughter.
“Oh god, Mom, no,” he says, shaking his head frantically. “We’re not… No. Just no. It’s not like that. We’re just friends.”
What if he just told her?
Would it be the end of the world?
No, the end of the world is already happening, and it has nothing to do with his sexuality.

Ryuki’s heart rabbited in his chest as his stomach curdled. He’d been here before, a thousand times. The dark cathedral, fear alive in his body, so thick and cloying he choked on it. Date looking at him calmly through the mask.
“Drop the gun,” the man repeated, annoyed this time. “And kick it to me.”
Ryuki sent Date one last, hopeless glance, then clicked the safety on, dropped the gun, and kicked it.
It skidded forward a measly two feet.
Into the baffled silence, Ryuki said, “Um. Should I kick it again, or—?”

“I can’t sleep,” The smaller one grumbled. Some of his hair was slipping out of his ponytail, and he looked like he was on the verge of lashing out at Sylvain at any given moment.
“Oh,” Sylvain breathed out. He pondered for a few moments, and said, “We could play a game or something until you fall asleep. Maybe truth or dare?”
“Are you serious?” Felix asked, chuckling a bit as he finished his question. “That’s such a childish game.”
Sylvain grinned, and stated, “Oh, c’mon. It’ll be just like when we were kids. When you couldn’t think of anything, and I was the one coming up with all of the ideas.”
Felix blushed lightly, feeling a rising heat in his chest. He fought Sylvain a bit, but eventually gave in. “Fine,” He murmured.
