Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?

Dazai has been distant with Chuuya these days, seeming to have grown bored of him and has been spending more and more time with Oda Sakunosuke. This sudden rift has consequences, and Chuuya will be the one to bear it.

Dazai seems to be back to his usual I-love-giving-Chuuya-a-headache self, and thus, loudly and proudly declares: “I have two guesses as to where we have been transported!” he pauses purely for the dramatics and just stares at Chuuya smugly, “wouldn’t you like to hear them, chibi?”
Chuuya rubs the bridge of his nose, shutting his eyes tightly, “Just spit it out, bastard.”
“So rude,” the mackerel whines at him, at which he can just groan desperately. However, the gods smile at him from the skies above, through the tiny break of sunshine in the sea of clouds, and Dazai finally gets to the point. “We have either travelled to the future, or we were transported to an alternate universe. I am more inclined to believe the first one.”
Or: Chuuya and Dazai work out their relationship while being chased by a hero or two.

"Open it," Kunikida tells Dazai, nodding at the file.
Dazai eyes him in bemusement. Slowly, after a few seconds, he does, pulling up the lip of the file and reaching inside. He takes the contents out slightly, only for himself to see.
He stills at what he does see.
Kunikida snatches the file out of his startled hands and upends the contents all over the table for everyone to see.
The reaction is absolute silence, except for a small gasp from Naomi. Junichirou is asking, "Is that…"
"Nakahara Chuuya," Yosano answers, her eyes fixated on them with shock.
They are pictures.
They are pictures of him and Chuuya, together.

The ADA finds out about Chuuya and Dazai's relationship, which leads to Kunikida saying some deeply hurtful things to Dazai. Chuuya takes care of Dazai in the aftermath.

Everything is the same, but Oda survived the fight with Gide. After that he attempts to invite Dazai to leave with him, but that is unsuccessful leading to Oda leaving and Dazai staying. Oda joins the ADA and Dazai remains under Mori. Years later and he meets Dazai again in a scuffle, he attempts to change his mind again, but Mori’s grip on Dazai is tight, and the ADA is going to learn about Oda’s past and his connection with one of the most feared criminals in Yokohama, The Demon Prodigy.

Summary
This was what he hated about Dazai–he talked big, but when it came down to it, Chuuya was pretty sure he had no plan. He had decided to leave the mafia in a rush of anger and emotion, taking Chuuya right down with him, and now look where they had ended up–a shitty apartment in Musutafu, signed up to be unqualified bodyguards. It was an almost laughable situation, but this was life, this was Chuuya’s life, and he wasn’t sure what it would become anymore.
He hoped that was a good thing.
Or: Chuuya and Dazai both leave the Port Mafia together, and in order to get away from Mori they both get a job working as undercover bodyguards for Class 1-A at U.A. high school.
