Summary
The problem did not begin when predator found prey and fed upon it. The problem did not even begin when the predator became alarmed and had to let the prey go again lest it was caught by the predator's own predators. The problem did not begin when the predator made its existence known in this strange land (these things have existed always) nor did it begin when the prey made its foolish decision - turn right, not left - why right? don't know, haven't time, just do it and hope you've picked correctly (you haven't) nor did it begin when the prey made its truly foolish decision - why not join the army? I don't know what else to do with my life (anything, do anything else, anything at all).
The problem, as with many things in Arthur's line of work, began rather with the end. Not his. But we'll start at the beginning.
