“You must be mistaken,” Astarion says, waving a hand dismissively. There’s an easy smile on his face that doesn’t quite meet his eyes. “I don’t believe we’ve met."

"What was illogical, to him, was that Tav permitted it. Letting the vampire hold them tight, pinned with their back to his chest while he fed. Perhaps they had a bizarre vampire fetish - it certainly wouldn’t be the first time he’d encountered such. There was a soft trembling to their skin as he fed, barely parted lips in the dying firelight while the others slept.
But the few nights Astarion declined in a huff, they smiled and said they were glad he wasn’t hungry. A puzzling mystery that irked at him, staying on his mind in the hours between fights."

“Did I really?” Stede wails in horror.
“And the day before,” Lucius confirms. “Except then it was ‘dear heart.’ No, wait, it was ‘my love.’ ‘Dear heart’ was the day before that. Actually, I don’t think you’ve called him by just his name in like, a week.”
Or, Stede realizes he's maybe, possibly started calling Ed rather revealing things.

“I am still angry, Holmes, but I meant it when I told you this afternoon that I never was happier to see anyone in my life—dear God, I missed you so.” He smiled faintly and placed his hand over mine which still rested upon his knee; we sat in silence for what felt like a very long time. Our hands pressed together felt strange and new but yet inevitable, as if they had always been that way, and my fingers ached to grab hold of his own, to press them to my chest and hold him there forever.

For all Holmes might make fun of my writing, it’s become our custom, over the years, that he should be my first reader. This arrangement has proven agreeable for many reasons: firstly it is practical, as it allows him in the event of a slipup on my part — a name I ought to change or a conversation which ought to remain unrecorded —, to warn me of my oversight and correct it; secondly it pleases him, as he is a peacock first and man second, and he revels in my constant attention.
