"...I spent so long looking for my soulmate I'd come to believe I didn't have one" he admitted, voice hoarse, looking up at the stars overhead "But when I realized it was you...it made so much sense I couldn't believe how stupid I'd been"
He stared at her. When their eyes locked, something crackled in the air as if the stars themselves had burst into flames.
Her stomach twisted and contorted, mumbling a weak "Tomioka-san..."
He slowly rose to his feet. She'd never seen this kind of look on his face; the light in his eyes had gone dim, eyelids twitching, gaze wet and shimmering. She was sure the same look was reflected on her face.
"Why do you have to make things so difficult?"
In a world in which soulmates are defined by each other's physical sensations, Shinobu learns that running away from her feelings will eventually come back to bite her in the ass.
