Rumi couldn't read anymore. Her claws had sunk into her upper arm without her noticing. The sting came second, then the thick and metallic warmth, slipping down to the white bedsheets. She didn't move to wipe it all away.

P.S. If you have seen this work somewhere with a familiar title (high likely Wattpad), then I must warn that while I am the creator of that original and this fic, the content is changed. My original fic, while it was funny and sweet (back then, how much I've written) , it was been long discontinued. However, I've gotten back into DDLC and decided to rewritten it with a completely different approach. I'll try to keep the old humor attempts, though, the change is that this story is now a slow burn. So the gayness is later on.

She never told Zoey or Mira, but there was always a faint buzz whenever she touched her blade. Kind of like the feeling of static when her leg fell asleep or Mira got a lucky hit on her elbow with her practice staff. It didn't hurt, but it was uncomfortable.
Rumi pushes back with all the strength she has. Gritting her teeth while she watches the demon force it down like she's not even there.
The buzz that usually comes when touching her sain-geom isn't what she feels, though.
Not at all.
Lightning shoots down her right arm. Like the burning core of each of the stars on her blade are dying inside her veins. Bursting and scorching anything in their paths as she watches her arm begin to dissolve into ash.

Just-” She cut herself off as she went to place her hand on Rumi’s arm. She froze with her facial expressions falling.
Tears started to cascade down Rumi’s face as she watched Zoey’s eyes widen, her pupils dilate and her whole body pull back just slightly.
The rapper’s gaze had fallen onto her exposed demon patterns.
Rumi let out a long trembling breath followed by a harsh whine.
She had to cover them up.
