Summary
Sometimes Phoenix gets a little carried away during sex. Miles confronts him about it.
“What do you – wait,” Phoenix said, understanding dawning, expression turning horrified. “Oh god. I say that? I do that? I'm so sorry, Miles.” He tripped over his own words, thinking of all the times he’d let his mouth run. “It's objectifying, a-and rude, and I'll stop immediately!"
"Phoenix," Miles interrupted him, flushed. "You misunderstand me. I am not requesting you to stop.” He swallowed. “On the contrary – I would like you to do it more."

Summary
The death of his wife in childbirth leaves Yuujin Mikotoba with severe depression, a mountain of guilt, and a daughter he is ill-equipped to care for. An attempt to put six thousand miles between himself and his grief doesn't work as well as he'd hoped. Maybe repeatedly putting himself in mortal peril alongside the most insufferable man in London will do the trick.

Summary
These are what I have affectionately dubbed The Iristitials. Each story spotlights a different moment in the first ten years of Iris’s life (and perhaps eventually beyond).
The stories can be read independently, but many details will carry through.
In the same way, these borrow a lot of pre-canon details, characters, and headcanons from BombshellBlondie’s incredible fic Life Simply Grows Around It. This fic changed my life and I cannot recommend it enough. You don’t strictly need to have read it first for this series to make sense, but also, do not deprive yourself. Go read it!
Also! Now with adorable baby Iris art thanks to ancientcereal!!!

Gregson's involvement in masterminding the Reaper leaves Barok wondering if it's better to give up and walk away. After all, what can he do against a conspiracy so high in the legal system? It's a hopeless cause, a fight he has no chance of winning. The only question is if it's still a cause worth fighting for anyway. A timely interruption by Naruhodo gives him a new perspective.

[asoryuu week 2021 day 7: free day, or: a little bit of everything]
--
18 August, 1915 hrs
Even though Naruhodo's speech did not seem spectacular, or perhaps, precisely because of that, he delivered it perfectly with clear enunciation and even clarity. I'm somewhat bitter that I've lost to something so plain, but Professor Mikotoba reminded me that there was an elegance to simplicity. There's a validity to his words, but he doesn't know that when I spoke to Naruhodo after the competition, the man actually had the gall to tell me something as ridiculous as "speaking fast is a hobby of mine."
What an odd and infuriating character.

Summary
Athena sighs. Kind of embarrassing, really: the Turnabout Terror and the city’s chief prosecutor, legal legends, unable to make even the most basic logical leap and figure out that they’re this deeply in love with each other.
She glances back over at Apollo, whose head is tipped back, staring at the smoggy sky. He’s never been one for getting involved in these sorts of things, but honestly, Athena is just about nearing her limit with Mr. Wright and Mr. Edgeworth.
This requires an intervention.

A kiss, as they mutually discovered as children—lips pressed to a knee, a hand, an item—could speak volumes they could never truly voice. But that’s just because they were kids, right?
Yeah, no, definitely not. Because throughout the seasons of their lives, that one unbreakable habit remains untouched by time.

Summary
In the ranks of hopeless cases, determining whether Phoenix Wright or Miles Edgeworth deserved the top spot was a fiercely contested debate (one described by outsiders as “kind of cute” and “just like an old married couple” and, when polite terms failed them, “gross”). Both could agree, however, on third place: for the only case nearly as hopeless as their love for each other was Phoenix’s self-proclaimed quest to find the perfect pet name for Miles.

So it’s all sort of the same in the end. Love is a type of grandeur between two beings. Love is an easy approval when you follow divine rules. Love is an easy cruelty when you don’t.
Love is a thing that God does. That’s the whole of what Crowley knows of it.
And then the humans, as they are wont to do, start inventing things.

bracken's aro crowley fic! a.k.a. how angels and demons are not built like humans and so their experiences are different but also analogous to aromanticism a.k.a. crowley going "oh yeah put them in some rain that'll work fine" was the most aromantic thing i've seen a character do ever a.k.a. crowley tries to figure out what humans are talking about with this whole love thing and accidentally downloads amatonormativity a.k.a. crowley thinks a Lot about love. and still doesn't figure out romance
