Connor is a free android now, and Markus is still trying to change the world. Finding time for their growing relationship is hard. It's made even harder by the entire truckload of trauma Connor is carrying with him from his time spent at CyberLife. Markus doesn't care. He loves Connor as he is, and is willing to take as much time as they need to help him heal.

Bucky bites down on what wants to come next, because it’s not about the bath. It’s not about the fall.
It’s about Berlin. The mission that went bad two days before the summit. The one Bucky hadn’t been briefed on until the aftermath—until a red folder showed up in his office while he was smiling through committee testimony about global stabilization efforts. One of his aides had slid it across the table during a break, whispering something he doesn’t remember now. The word explosive stood out. The words head trauma and unconscious at the scene followed.

While clearing out an old HYDRA base, Bucky suddenly finds himself trapped in his own past as the Winter Soldier (where he is promptly captured by a 25-year-old Sam Wilson and his partner, Riley).
Bucky looks at Riley and is hit by a cacophony of thoughts and feelings. He’s never met the man, but he’s studied his file. “You’re going to die in two years and …three months, I think,” he tells the airman. Riley looks so young with his round cheeks and faint freckles. “You’ll be shot out of the air by an RPG and Sam won’t be able to do anything to save you. I’m sorry. Maybe you can avoid it… but probably not. That's not… not how time works.”
Riley goes pale, but Sam’s face goes from neutral to hostile. When Bucky opens his mouth again, Sam snaps, “Enough with the prophecies, Cassandra. Either say something useful or I’ll shoot you in the other lung.”
