He picked up a stained carnation from the trash and smiled sadly at it. “This might not make sense, but my love for them isn’t something that causes me pain. To see them smile and laugh, to see them grow as a person… just to simply be in their company…” Izuku let the flower float back down to the top of the trashcan. “… none of that hurts me. It makes me happy.”
