“Tsushima Shuuji,” Chuuya reads out loud. “A bright, optimistic young man with a pep in his step and a zest for life. Hang on–is this referring to you?”
“Unfortunately,” Dazai laments, sighing dramatically. “You just got away with ‘science nerd’ and ‘soccer player,’ but I’m supposed to be an artist! I hate art! It’s useless!”
“Shut the fuck up. That’s not the problem here. You? A ‘zest for life?’ Looking forward to each new morning? Hah! Rimbaud would sooner come back to life.”
Dazai turns to Chuuya with the barest facsimile of a smile painted over his lips.
“I,” he says sweetly, “am going to gut you open like a fish.”
Dazai and Chuuya are seasoned mafiosos at the ripe old age of almost-seventeen. They’ve fought gang wars, interrogated prisoners, and done all manner of unspeakable things. Now, they face their greatest challenge yet: going (undercover) to a real high school. With regular teens (who may or may not be desperately trying to get them to kiss).

Before he can think too much about it, Tachihara leans in with a ferocious snarl. Junichirou's collar is dragged downwards as the cold barrel of a gun connects with his skin, sending a shiver down his spine. He looks up, staring into guarded brown eyes that glint dangerously in this light.
Instinctively, Light Snow thrums under his veins. His world begins flickering, but an even harsher press of the gun drags him back to reality.
“You won’t survive more than a week here if that’s your go-to, Illusionist,” Tachihara hisses. “Welcome to the real world.”

"Chuuya at eighteen has long hair which he often ties back into a ponytail. Dazai can see the nape of his neck, the tendons in his skin, and when Chuuya is sitting down, leaning over a book or lying face first on the touch, Dazai will have to resist the urge to touch him there, the follow the veins down to the bumps in his spine and to figure out, how, exactly, Chuuya is built: where the flesh of him ends and the human begins. It is more than that though, but Dazai refuses to look at it, so he cuts it off: snips through the emotion just as easily as he snips through Chuuya’s hair, standing over him while he’s asleep with a pair of kitchen scissors because he cannot bear to see that swath of pale skin anymore."
Chuuya uses Corruption: once, twice, when he's sixteen and eighteen and twenty one, twenty two.

Dazai lent forward on his desk, chin propped on his fist. “You fucked Chuuya, didn’t you?”
“W-what?” Kunikida spluttered, “I - I did not - I didn’t - why would you -”
“Well,” eyes sharpening, smile menacing as he leant forward in his seat, “If it wasn’t for that -” Dazai tapped his fingers against his throat, “Chuuya’s signature, by the way, then your reaction would be enough to figure it out.”
Yosano stood, heels clicking against linoleum - a backtrack to Kunikida’s entire brain exploding, mouth agape - she rolled in a whiteboard from the war room, pulling off the black sheet covering it.
It had been split in two using blue marker, one half titled ‘Dazai’, the other ‘Nakahara’. The former was empty, but the latter -
“Someone,” Kunikida practically whined, “Please tell me what’s going on.”
“You haven’t figured it out yet?” Ranpo was clearly enjoying the power, green eyes open as he watched the pair’s respective irritation, “Dazai and Nakahara have a bet. Whoever sleeps with seven members of the rival organisation first wins.”

“I figured out who the murderer was in two paragraphs,” Ranpo says, holding up two fingers, like he really needs to drive the nail in deeper.
