Summary
While Bucky knows the next few months will be hell, in a way, he’s also glad that Steve’s never bonded him. He’s bitten Bucky, sure. About six months in, Bucky’d told him he didn’t have to use the bite guard if he didn’t want to. He thought they were taking the next step, and after that rut, Bucky was left with Steve’s bite marks all over his body. Bite marks everywhere but the one place it counts: over his scent glands.
It was a wake-up call when, just a couple of months later, Steve started using the guard again.

Summary
“You can share with Buck!” Chris yells at him behind the closed door, and Eddie stares at the chipped white paint on the frame, shaking his head as his heart thumps heavily.
“Share what?” Buck yells back, same inflection, and Eddie shakes his head again, just as indulgently. He missed this. He traces a hand over one of the framed pictures on the wall, of Jee and Maddie, then to another of Christopher with abuela, and his heart thumps a little louder. Buck’s humming to himself from the other room. There’s a loud clattering noise in the bathroom, like Chris knocked over a bunch of toiletries.
Eddie really missed this.

One night when Eddie can't sleep, he discovers the hottest Jeopardy contestant of all time (objectively). With the "help" of his team and his fairly good working knowledge of Twitter, they devise a plan to get Evan (from Jeopardy) to slide into Eddie's DMs. It works surprisingly well.

Summary
Buck looks at Eddie, for the first time in eight years. The changes in his face aren’t as drastic as they were for Chris – Eddie didn’t have puberty to get through. But his age shows, in the crows feet around his eyes and the slight frown lines. Before he left, Eddie was still in shape for working in the LAFD. Eddie looks – softer. Buck has no doubt he’s kept up with his fitness, but being CPAT-ready is a different deal.
And despite himself – Buck thinks Eddie looks good. It’s like a pang in his chest, when he finally lets himself acknowledge it. Eddie is older but just as handsome, even though he looks as awkward as Buck feels. His traitorous heart does a little flip, like there’s a chance of anything happening.
or: Buck hasn’t seen Christopher Diaz in eight years – not since his dad moved back to El Paso, breaking Buck’s heart in the process. He’s surprised Christopher wants anything to do with him when he moves back to Los Angeles for college, but Christopher is adamant on reconnecting. But with Christopher comes Eddie, and Buck has to contend with the fact that he never got over him.

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)
