Summary
He’d leave a lasting impression this time, he’d make sure of it. But whatever he did, he had to do it fast—perhaps a distraction could be of use? Friede couldn’t interfere with Spinel’s plot with his own if he never got the chance to, after all.
After a moment of contemplation, an idea popped into his mind, his eyes widening slightly; an idea quite different from what he’d usually gravitate to, though that could make it all the more effective. If he played his cards right, he could completely throw off the professor and take the victory he so rightfully earned—the other man would never expect it.

Summary
It all boiled over when on their 6th encounter (Friede insisted up and down that it was all solely coincidence—-were it anyone else, Spinel wouldn’t have believed them), Friede said a sequence of words Spinel never thought he’d ever hear directed towards himself, of all people.
An invitation. For him, to join the RVT.
Honestly, he was baffled. He thought better of the professor. Inviting him to join his pathetic little knit of misfits? He could almost laugh. After all he’d done, surely Friede knew trusting Spinel was a horrible mistake, one that could only lead to tragedy for his little “family.” Which is exactly what Spinel spat at him, laughing in his face before storming off, Umbreon lingering behind for a moment before rushing to keep up. He tried to ignore her worried looks, furrowing his brows and steeling his gaze in an attempt to stamp out the traitorous urge to look back.

Friede came to a realization that probably should’ve been obvious much sooner, and his first hint towards how on earth he got here.
The arm reaching out was one hundred percent, absolutely, without a doubt not his arm. It was both far paler and thinner than his own. Other than Dot, Friede knew only one person with this sort of only-goes-outside-once-a-month build. And unfortunately for him, and unfortunately for his continuously declining sanity at whatever the hell he managed to get himself into, it was the same man whose room he was almost certain he was standing in.
Spinel's brow furrowed as his eyes narrowed. Something is wrong.
Spinel’s gaze immediately shot down towards himself, and found exactly what was wrong. A Pikachu, tan skin, and—he reached up to drag a chunk of hair into his line of sight—white hair; he was, without a doubt, stuck in both Friede’s body and room.

“You’re Friede, yes?” He startled at the direct address. How did this guy even know his name?
He let out a nervous (and very clearly forced) chuckle, bringing his hand back to rub
at his neck as a nervous tick. “Yep, that’s me. How did you..?” He trailed off.“I assure you it’s for nothing negative. Quite the opposite, actually,” the other man reassured him, almost as if reading his mind. His grin grew, and Friede felt a shiver go down his spine—now that he wasn’t distracted by the guy’s pretty face, he felt there was something…off about the grin. Almost sinister.
Before he could continue his train of thought, the other man stepped almost uncomfortably closer, reaching for Friede’s unoccupied hand and taking it into his own in a handshake. “Spinel,” he introduced himself. “I’ve been keeping tabs on you for a while.”
What.
Friede gets stuck delivering a stack of paperwork and reports to an infamously nasty higher up at Exceed. He does not get paid nearly enough to deal with this, he decides.

In a world where most people learned how to partake in pokémon battles before they even knew how to read or write, it wasn’t uncommon for up-and-coming young pokémon trainers to rise to fame occasionally.
Wallace was well-aware of the fact battling drew a lot more attention than pokémon contests, and while he could get a little petty about that, it wasn’t too big of a deal since he enjoyed both. His master, Juan, was training him to become a master in both arts, and he couldn’t be more grateful to learn about the finer details of the two crafts.
Which was perhaps the very reason he felt so offended at the fact some snobby rich heir from Rustboro had seemingly gotten famous overnight.
Steven Stone – yes, that Stone family, owner of the Devon Corporation and all that – was being praised for his skills and talents as a pokémon trainer, without even having earned his first gym badge yet.
