Summary
Twenty years after the Trifecta lost control of Nikan to Hesperian occupation, the mainland Republic and the independent island kingdom of Speer have an uneasy truce. A young Seer, sent south to settle a years-old blood debt, is delivered to the island by Hesperian captors as a peace offering.
In reality, Chaghan is as much a would-be assassin as he is a captive. The Hesperians’ political machinations mean nothing to him, but with his life – and more importantly, his sister – on the line, he has no choice but to play their game.
Unfortunately, the Speerlies are kinder than he’d expected, despite the Trifecta’s poisonous presence. There’s something about their Prince he can’t help but notice – a haunted look in his eyes that he can’t quite hide, the lingering smell of smoke in his hair.
He just needs Altan to take these damn bracelets off him so he can kill him already.

Summary
He didn’t want to be right. Despite everything, despite knowing the way it would turn, he had wanted to believe in Altan. He’d surrendered himself to it. He’d put his heart on the altar.
After the end of the world, Chaghan mourns. He finds that memories, like the dead, are often restless.

Summary
Qara’s lips pursed. “Well, it’s… There isn’t much of a direct translation, but I can try. It’s a diminutive. Like… Oh, what would you call it… A pet-name.”
Altan almost choked on his own spit.
Altan experiences three things in rapid succession: an unexpected rainstorm, some new words in Naimad, and something dangerously close to emotional intimacy.

Summary
“Altan always does the voices. The dragon and princess don’t sound the same.” She pouted.
“Well, maybe they do this time. Maybe the dragon and the princess were actually the same person all along.”
Rin frowned. “That’s stupid.”
Due to a work emergency, Chaghan finds himself alone for an entire day with Altan’s beloved three-year-old cousin Rin. He tries his best to avert disaster.

Summary
“You should really have figured it out by now. I’m not planning on fighting you.”
“What?! Why not?”
“Because I don’t need to. It’s a waste of both of our time.” Altan glanced him up and down. He gave a dismissive shrug. “Anyway, you’re built like a bird and I could break you with one hand. It’d be too easy.”
In the valley, Chaghan and Altan come to an understanding. It takes blood, sweat, tears, and a healthy dose of hallucinogens.

Summary
“It’s… hard to imagine,” Jayce said, voice coming out hoarse. “I don’t think our brains are meant to comprehend that kind of time scale.”
“I can see why you think that. Your mind is still… limited. Once we see the world in the same light, we will be able to reshape reality as we wish.”
Jayce couldn’t help but laugh. “Sounds like you’re planning to make me a god of your new world.”
Viktor smiled slightly. “Something along those lines.”
During a bloodless visit to Viktor's commune, a moment of weakness in the greenhouse threatens to shatter the last of Jayce's determination to keep his promise.

Summary
The hammer clattered to the floor with a noise that reverberated off the shining walls, glitching and sparking angrily at the edge of his vision. Jayce couldn’t think about it, couldn’t think about the mage, the future, every broken promise piling onto his back like a ton of rubble. He reached out, blindly, finding the hem of Viktor’s robe and pulling him closer, until he could press his face against him. The hand on his shoulder didn’t shift.
“I’m sorry,” Jayce gasped, not knowing who he was apologising to.
“I forgive you,” Viktor said, as if it was that simple.
After killing Salo in the Hexgate chamber, Jayce finds his way to Viktor's commune with a singular goal in mind. He falls at the first hurdle, and spends the days that follow desperately trying to work up the resolve to do what needs to be done.

Summary
What he saw when he emerged into the kitchen, still groggy, his blanket cape trailing behind him, was worse than anything Jayce could have imagined.
Sitting at his kitchen table, sharing a pot of tea with his mother, was Viktor. The man looked thoroughly at home there, his posture relaxed, smiling at Jayce’s mother as she chattered away. There was something on the table between them. Jayce squinted, then as his mother turned a page, confusion curdled into horror in his gut.
The photo album.
Or: Two months into his partnership with the most brilliant man Jayce has ever met, he's hit with a terrible bout of man flu.
Viktor attempts to help by bringing Jayce some work notes to keep him occupied. He manages to make everything far, far worse.

Summary
“What does it do?”
“It strengthens your innate connection to the arcane. All living things have one. If you need to talk to me, wear it before you sleep and I should be able to find you.”
Caitlyn frowns. “…Just you?”
Mel gives a small shrug, her smile inscrutable. “It’s attuned to my magic. So, yes, just me. And… others I allow.”
In the aftermath of a world-shattering battle, Caitlyn mourns. A revelation from Mel right before she leaves for Noxus threatens to rip open a wound that has barely had a chance to close.

Summary
“Are you alright?” he asks, trying for gentle instead of relieved. She didn’t actually want to talk about him, Caduceus realises, she’s just couching her own feelings in something else. It takes a weight off his shoulders, and simultaneously ties one around his ankles.
At sea once more, Beau takes a moment to check up on Caduceus. Or, rather, she tries to.
